Forums - General - Do you want your least favorite manufacturer out of the console industry?

Answer the Damn Question!

Yes, because I hate them 34 30.91%

Yes, so they can go third party 15 13.64%

No, I wish them success 18 16.36%

No, I wish them everlasting fail. 18 16.36%

I couldn't care less 25 22.73%

Total:110

Easy Question.

Some of the more extreme fanboys here give off the vibe that they want certain companies gone; some have even explictly stated as such. I personally don't understand this mentality. There is simply no logic in the thinking. Perhaps someone can give some clarity?

I, for one, would not want my hated company out of the industry. It's not that I don't wish them pain and suffering. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I want them and their fans to experience as much pain and suffering as possible, for as long as possible. However, an entity obviously cannot experience pain if it no longer exists. For that reason, I want my least favorite console manufacturer to sell slightly more than what is necessary for them to survive, and no more. I want them to border along extinction, but never actually become extinct. Heck, occasionally I would like for them to actually see a little bit of success. This would raise the fans hope, which only increases the impact when they are slamed to the ground. In essence, I would like monumental, but sustainable, failure.

Do you want your least favorite company gone? If so, what are the reasons? Deep, emotional hatred? More games for your console? Opportunity to bash fanbases? Feeling of victory?

Yes, because they are bad for the industry.

Who?

Don't worry, I won't report you* (unless you give the wrong answer).

*Sorry, I reported you just in case.

M$ could go third party just because Rare /hmmm

Microsoft needs to get the (beep) out. Leave things to Nintendo and Sony.

I still look forward to the day when it is only about games. I would rather have developers come to a consensus on one hardware standard, and then any hardware manufacture could build the device, just like every other entertainment industry. No more exclusives, everyone just plays the best games.

Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.

Guess :P

Hint: it's the only one bad for the industry :P

And... not really. While Microsoft is horrible with the X1 in many ways, it's still a platform for more games, sales, and competition.

The harm they cause offsets any good they might bring.

What if more companies start following them? I don't know what I would do then.
