When approaching Fair is your best option in the air. It gives you a "hover" effect (also used to help you recover) while giving you extra aerial control meaning you can weave out it to avoid punishment. Dash attack is a decent approach option but pretty punishable. Usmash is good at out approaching airial approaches. You're going to want to force your opponent to approach, and fit that somewhere into your game(if you were to ever watch MakeHaze play fox you'd know what I mean :P) The best way to do this is blaster. Fox can short hop triple laser and short hop double laser and fast fall(the latter for being less vunerable). Your opponent is forced to approach de to not being able to handle the lasers. While doing this you have to constatly think about how your opponent is going to approach. This eventually fits into Fox's combo game.
Dair is probably the key to his combo game. Out of a dair you are going to want to jab/utilt/Usmash/Dsmash. One thins to think about using dair though is that it's easily sheilded. Due to its bad range and lag it is not good for approaching instead used while anticipating your opponent's move. Utilt is fast and hits both saides. Out of an Utilt you can lead into another Utilt/Dair/Nair/etc. When it comes to Fox's jab you want to realize thaat once he starts kicking it can't combo anymore. So, you want to learn to jab cancel. Out of a jab cancel its common to see a grab or Ftilt.
Fox is hard to KO with due to his KO moves usually being anticapted. Generally you want to Usmash and Uair to KO. Try not to use these moves too much before or they will get stale. If you are afraid of them being stale remember that your lasers also take up negation and thus refreshes your stale moves. Now to get around KOing you have to rely on gimping your opponent off stage. To get your opponent off stage you usually want to use Bthrow, Fthrow, and Dsmash. Of the stage your most usful arials are Nair and Bair. Shine is also important but I'll explain that later. If you are unsure you can safely gimp them recover immeditaly and use blaster.
Lastly Fox's shine. This move is pretty important. For one it stops airal combos due to that stall effect. It reflects projectiles obviously :P Shine can also be used off the stage for a shine spike. This works simlar to DK's cargo throws however a shine spikes involves shining your opponent under the stage. The safest way to shine effectivly is by interceting predicatable recoveries like Wolf, Falco, Bowser, etc.
Need anymore help just ask. Sorry it took so long though. I was doing something whle typing this. Also an AiB Fox guide for future references
