I think Sony is hoping 3rd party support will save Vita in Japan. They probably want to focus on PS4, it's hard making games for 2 platforms at once.
I bet we'll see a couple game announcements at TGS in September. Until then, Vita is just holding on while PS4 tries to kill XB One before it's born.

at this event i said hello PS4 and goodbye to me Vita. il sell it soon.
Just like when Sony released the PS3 and largely ignored the PSP. 3rd parties helped keep the PSP relevant, but doesn't look like they will do much for Sony's handheld this time around.
