Forums - Gaming - Repeat of E3 1995?

At E3 95 Sega announced a price tag of $399 and had some mess ups with unexpected launch.

Right afterwards Sony undercut them with a $299 price.

As for Nintendo, they stuck to just showing off software.

That gen ended up with Sony dominating, Nintendo in a distant but healthy 2nd and Sega doing well in one territory (Japan) but horrible elswhere.

E3 2013 Microsoft announces $499 price tag and messes up with DRM.

Sony afterwards announces $399 price tag.

Nintendo shows off software.

I could see this gen end with PS4 in 1st with 100m+, Wii U-60m and One-40m with 70% sales in USA.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Around the Network

I think it's a bit weird to act as though the events of an E3 having a vague resemblance to another E3 means that an entire generation will follow the same pattern as a previous generation.

It was $499 for the X-One. As for similarities - different market, different times, different fincial circumstances for the globe. Too early to know, but I think it's a safe bet that the PS4 will outsell the X-One.

Sorry typo
