OK, I'll play along. Let's say someone doesn't like any of the games on ps+, which frankly is almost impossible. You are bound to find something you like eventually. But let's just say, nothing on there is interesting. No biggie, you can look at it as an extra if you are paying to play online. That is still more value than what xbox live is giving, at worst it's on par... just charging for online play if nothing else interests you.

Sure, they are not exactly free, but you will have access to them as long as you are a subscriber. In my opinion it has more value than live. 

But that's just covering the value angle........ If paying for online play is a major issue for you, I don't know what to say to that. Both systems will be charging now. There's always Wii U!!

To be honest most of the things Plus gives you for "free" you are paying. You are paying for those discounts, you are paying for those games, you are paying for all those extra in game stuff. Giving you early or exlcusive beta entries is not a bonus either because if + did not exsist you be able to get those beta's for free.

Live offers comparable stuff with its sales for arcade games and what obviously not at the same scale but I really do not know since I'm not a XBL subscriber.

Paying online is not a issue heck I'm not even mad about it. Its just hilarious watching people eat their own words. Sony fans have bashed MS calling them evil and what not for years because they charge for online gaming, now that sony is doing it its all good LOL. Honestly its just pathetic.


Your taking Sony's "victory" tonight on a personal level.  I get it.  No it's not "all good", like you said.  It's an extra cost for a lot of people, and a bit of a back stab (do whatever you want with your games.. just don't play online, unless you pay us), but the PS4 for $399?!  How is it that this thing is $100 cheaper than the Xbox One?  I do not know what decisions were made along the way regarding pricing of the PS4, but if one of those decisions was to drop the price an extra $50-$100, and in return charge users to play multiplayer online - while simultaneously giving them incredible value with their PS+ membership - I absolutely can support it.

It was a good showing. They didn't really show anything "new", though. All their reveals were multiplat, so MS wins it in the games department.

But the jabs were just ridiculous. If I were a mod I'd ban Sony for trolling

Gotcha I guess ill stick with my Ps3 for awhile then and get a Wii U this holiday. Wait for PS4 till a price cut and hopefully by then thry will have Gaikai BC.

I always hated how MS charged for online multiplayer and got away with it. Now, Sony will do it too, and they chose the PERFECT moment to start charging for online: Sony now can match MS and charge for online while still being the White Knigts of Gaming (TM) because they skipped the draconian DRM.

It was very well thought out.

Myself, I don't mind paying for multiplaer AS LONG AS Plus keeps delivering its goods. I'm subscribed until 2015 already thanks to many deals and looks like I have my PS4 multiplayer fix paid til then.

A small part of me also whinced at the paywall to multiplayer. But, I am a day one PS+ adopter and will continue to be a PS+ subscriber because of the value it brings so this won;t be an issue. PS+ is more than worth the money as millions of players will find out this next generation!

Sony showed two new exclusives IPs and the SE games is not confirmed yet to anything than PS4.
