As a child I started gaming as a Nintendo kid on the nes/snes. By the time the n64 was out I was obsessed with games and jumped on the playstation when it came out. I loved both until my playstation broke, and I got another one. Than that one broke. About a year later I was able to pick up yet a 3rd playstation , this one would last for  a few years before breaking like its predecessors. All this time my n64 was still going strong. 

Fast forward a few years to the Playstation 2. Grand theft auto blew my mind, the ability to watch movies was amazing. But again my luck with Sony consoles was not great as within three years two playstation 2's broke down on me. At that point, since I was older and now paying for my own consoles, I was fed up and swore off Sony forever and decided to become a Nintendo/Xbox/PC guy. I have been that way ever since.

Today Sony has earned another chance, I just pre ordered my Playstation 4 on Amazon, and I could not be more exicted. 

Edit: TL/DR : Had 3 PSones and two PS2's break on me before swearing Sony consoles off forever. Todays conference changed my mind and caused me to Pre order the PS4. 

Same here. I have been somewhat pessimistic about Sony but today they managed to wipe that away. However, if they manage to mess this up, specifically DRM, I will personally punch Jack Tretton in the face.

Are you expecting them to go back on their announcement or what? How could they mess it up?

Haha, I went through 6 (yes 6) PS2s.

4 Fats and 2 slims. 3 just died (all three were fixed for free tho), the other 3 were stupid mistakes.

they definitely won me over today. I was very undecided on which console I was getting first. Ps4 it is!

I will still get xbone but not for a year or two.

Other than a rough 2006-2008, being with Sony was all happiness since 1996 for me. :P

Glad they didn't submit to nor copy MS's stupid business model.

That's really strange. My PS1 never died. My PS2 died, but really late like 2005. Sorry you had such bad luck.
