Yep, Wii U looks very attractive now. I might pick a PS4 up when a nice game comes out, will probably be single player though.

Only if you're a Nintendo fan. And if so, you should already have one or should have already made the decision to buy one anyway once your favorite Nintendo franchise makes its first appearance on the platform.

If the Wii U was your only platform, you'd be missing out on a lot of third party games and would probably be better off gaming on PC via Steam.

I am a fan of all platforms. However I have pet peeves for certain things like: pay for online, no used games, motion gaming.

I already have PS plus, but it annoys me greatly that they tack that on to PS plus. Consumers should not allow things like this to happen.

So many sh!t talkers in here. You're all gonna own both consoles and not give a damn. And whoever says WiiU looks good now is being ridiculous!

hrrmmmmm I knew Tretton's statement felt weird...

*sigh

And this is what I'm hearing quite often from current PSN+ subscribers.

But if you don't like motion gaming, Nintendo is right out.

Take note, people who like to claim consumers on PS platforms are suddenly copacetic with having to subscribe to a paid service for online play. A lot of them aren't.

Nintendo was pretty much out with most Wii games, but I still enjoyed some. Wii U seems better in that respect. Might get all consoles eventually, but probably not until there is a surefire awesome game on them.

Nintendo wins the generation for ME. The last TRUE gaming company.

And the hypocrisy of a million Sony fans begins....

With that being said this definitely the right move for Sony. It will give them the level playing field they have desperately needed with Xbox live and pricing. Ms has been able to use live as huge leverage on the financial end to keep profits up and price low.

This is a good move by Sony just a lot of fans are going to have to eat some crow.

The hypocricy is from both sides to be fair.

xbox fans : eww you have to pay, haha there goes your 399 console - yet they've always had to pay, and adding xbl increases price of the 360, and one still requires subscription

ps fans : yeah well i dont mind since drm etc

Truth is it makes no difference, and in the long run the benefits xbl had are long gone with the new generation it becomes a matter of value for money - for ps fans thats without a doubt ps+ as it provides access to ps3, ps4 and vita titles at no additional charge beyond the subscription, every month, however you look at it, that's very good value for money.

So it's £349+£50 for online+£55 for a retail game, so you're looking at over £450 to play a single game online. But that's still only just higher than the XBone initial price.

But that is a lot of money. The Wii U struggled at £300 with a free game, no competition, BC and free online. So I can see both the PS4 and Xbone having a turbulent first year. Just one less turbulent than the other.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

Disappointing, but I was considering getting PSN+ when I get PS4 because I'll be able to get myself a decent game library without spending any more than the annual PSN+ fee. Unlike PS3 where I'd already spent a lot of money on games before PSN+ was a thing.

I don't play much online. I wonder if a game like Dark Souls will require PSN+. After all you are playing the SP campaign.

No doubt online Co-op for Destiny will require PSN+

so much bs, honeslty I dont use PS+ cause most of the games they offer for free I don't play. Plain and simple.

I might still get it though, and my friends will propably force me to pay the sub too. :/

Gonna be a very expensive generation next gen.
