Should Nintendo create more first party studios? Or create more partnerships (second party studios)? Or should they focus their efforts on third parties (will they ever woo EA successfully)?

More studios would allow them to help stave off the software droughts that plagued the 3DS and WiiU post-launch....but would it be smarter to chase after the third parties instead?

Bah!

no, solution is just what theyve done, merge hh studios with home console studios making thm bigger studios, then release a home/hh console in the WiiU mood, but really portable

Yes. They need to expand their current studios, open brand new ones to work on brand new games to expand their game lineup, AND work closely with 3rd parties to make sure that a drought like this current one never happens again. They're basically responsible for carrying the Wii U on their own, and they're gonna have to have a good number of 1st and 2nd party titles to pull that off.

yes. the more games, the better

Where did all the last gen profits go? It should've been used to open more studios, hire more people...etc.

They should buy more studios

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

They're making another one in Japan, it opens at the end of this year.

But I agree, they should make even more new ones.

That's what I was thinking! With the profits from the DS/Wii boom years, I don't see why Nintendo didn't use some of that money to either acquire studios that went out of business (THQ) or some of those studios' assets (IP's, developers, etc). I think THQ is a perfect example. They could have bought up some decent IP's for cheap and taken those games to the next level, but as far as I'm aware they haven't done anything like that...

Bah!

Not necessarily, but I would like more new IPs from them. If that's a factor for them then .... yes.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Nintendo doesn't have the talent to create great new studios. They should just buy some more.
