Forums - Microsoft - What really bugs you about the One?

To me the worst is:
1 - used games fee.
2 - have to log on everyday
3- the kinect always on
4- the focus on casual
5 - the focus on tv
6 - the crappy dancing games
7- mandatory installs
8- the still paid online gaming
9- no real benefits for the price of online gaming (like psn plus).
10- lack of respect for real gamers

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Where are the "What really bugs you about the PS4" and "What really bugs you about the WiiU" threads?

The crappy dancing games? this is one specific?

kinect always on? get up to speed.

focus on casual?

lack of respect for real gamers?

mandatory installs? thats a bad thing?

etc

etc

etc

jesus this is a weak list.

Could you make your argument for why the One is so great for us as consumers then? You know, since his list, which includes the DRM and ownership rights is so weak.

You seem to be very vocal on all of this, so I would like to see the arguments from the opposing side.

Why should we as consumers be excited about the XBox One and what does it offer me as a consumer? In this response I want ideas and thoughts that argue for why I shouldn't complain about not actually owning a game I buy at retail and about the console not working with any games if you do not have an internet connection. Why shouldn't I be upset about losing my right to sell privately? How does this expand the industry?

why? that would be off topic...

this is about what bugs you, niot about if it is anti consmer or not.  please stay on topic.

Elsewhere I am speaking about my personal situation, the One doesnt bug me at all and none of the "issues" are issues for me. simple.

Oh, then why come in here for no purpose that to criticize people for their opinions on why it bugs them? If it doesn't bug you at all, why come in to make an off topic post?

Practice what you preach.

Also, by the way, this thread is about it being anti-consumer, since that is the main reason it bugs me.

wtf are you talking about?

I was on topic, he was on topic  we were discussing his "what bugs me list"  you started talking about anti consumer.

I guess I am just asking the wrong person. If nothing bothers you, then I wonder what your purpose is to stay in this thread and call other people's reasoninigs weak.

If you were to do that I would expect a good reason for it, like maybe some counter arguments.

I guess I am just expecting too much.

I expect every single person complaining to turn in their ipods or mp3 players since they are anti-consumerist. You should be able to do what you want with your music. If you guys push hard enough CDs will make a comeback and we can all buy Discmans and then do whatever we want with our CDs as soon as we are done with them.

There simply is nothing that bugs me about the One.

This is a inet shitstorm only. You see people with thousands of posts on a gaming forum complaining that they need to connect once every 24 hours. It is ridiculous.

I can use my laptop on 3G when internet is down, so it's not a problem . Can One link to a 3G network and use <50mb of data?

How US centric the console is. After all what good is half those features if they won't be available to me at launch (or likely for years afterwards).

The anti-consumer moves are also a little concerning -- how long will the XBONE play videogames ? 10 years? After all once those servers are shut down / Microsoft stops supporting the XBONE it will not play your games any more and in a world without backwards compatibility that is kinda scary.

I didn't realize that, and that's scary. Will XbOne work when they shut down the servers, or will that be the point where MS will tell people "Okay you're done with XbOne, now buy a new console from us. If you want those games you'll have to rebuy them digitally."

I still have dozens of unbeaten PS2 games, and a handful of unbeaten PS1/SNES games. Plus I regularly play Mario Party 2 for N64. If Sony or Nintendo said no to old games, that would ruin gaming for me....

That's like owning a movie you love, but not being allowed to watch it when it's 10 years olf because it's "obsolete." This whole thing reminds me of the planned obselence of American cars in the 70's and look what good that did to the US auto industry.

- Dead Rising 3 seems like a timed exclusive at best and does not really interest me - played a bit of the first one, got bored, never looked back -;
- Mirror's Edge 2 will come to the PC most likely;

Were either of these games suppose to be exclusive? If they are, they are for sure timed, just like many early 360 "exclusives."

Not to beat a dead horse, but I hear the used game policy really ins't that bad.

And that's what they're hoping you'll think, oh it's not that bad we can live with it. Anything, even the slightest little thing, that gets in the way of someone freely giving away or selling a game (on disc) they bought so that someone else can play the game is unacceptable.

Don't get me wrong, I still don't like it because it runs small retailers out of buisness, but I at first thought I would be paying $30 for a launch title in 2020 (Halo 3 and Fable 2 are still $35 on XBL). Now I know that when I do buy the system at the end of the gen, I should be able to pick up games for <$20 still. Not off eBay anymore, but still.

It does suck not being able to sell games, I've boughten numerous games which I didn't like after buying them, and I managed to sell them and get most of my money back, or even make a profit.
