I really have a hard believing Activision is doing this(well supposedly) they gave no indication of it this gen with online passes like EA or Ubisoft

I also don't see S-E(or any other Eastern dev for that matter...well maybe capcom) acting on this, they know their largest(well atleast loyal) market is Japan and they won't have any of that specially single player games like FF/KH/SO and any other RPG centric game

All this pay walls will most likely going to affect NA only (and maybe Europe in the future). Which makes sense because it's the biggest market, so they want to make the most out of it (especially if they make partnerships with Gamestop).

Don't think SE or any other eastern publisher will touch DRM for the Japanese market.

but wouldn't that be ridiculously unfair? I know business act on profitability than "emotions/reason" but wouldn't that be against some commerce law?

Yeah it would be unfair, but I heard that the used game market in Japan is incredibly huge, which makes this DRM stuff a really big risk in Japan (but I'm not sure about this).

It is also a big risk to use DRM in NA, but since the market is bigger, the risk is probably lower.

Don't know if there are any commerce laws about this specific topic...heck I don't think there are any laws for used games.

Shouldn't they like it since it was done for their benefit? They probably want to remain silent on the issue because if they say they like it then they will become unpopular with gamers.

They like it. They also like Microsoft taking the heat for it.

True. Its interesting how silent they remain on the issue even though they were the one's that have always wanted it.

Its a bit messed up, but on the other hand, MS could have always said no. How cool would it have been if all three said no?

Nobody wants to put the ass in the way lol.

I doubt they can comment on specifics due to NDA's.
