Always love seeing dem angry joe rants. Sad part is that he was pretty much exclusive xbox (besides PC) for as long as I've been watching him. Now MS has led things to this.

He said if Sony doesn't follow MS he's going PS4 and if Sony fucks up hes going solely PC. This is good for him because Sony isn't doing it.

Gods that is so hypocritical! PC started this DRM nightmare and it was becasue PC gamers just rolled over and took it up the arse that we're now seeing it emerge on consoles.

The guy should switch to Ninty or Ouya, like I will, if Sony screws the pooch on this one too. Or he can just remain a hyprocrit.

Ouya plays small downloadable games.

Interview with Yoshida:
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/It-Official-PS4-Feature-Used-Game-DRM-Like-Xbox-One-56264.html

"This clears up a few things:
1.) The PlayStation 4 can play games offline without having to be online. This was clarified the day of the PS4's reveal back on February 20th.
2.) Sony will not have any mandatory DRM for used games. You can buy, play, trade used games on the PlayStation 4 just as usual. No additional registration fees, pay-walls or internet registration required.
3.) If you so choose, you can play games from disc, download them from the digital store orremote load them. Sony doesn't mandate any method over the other for multi-format titles.
4.) Just for extra clarification the PlayStation 4 does not and will not require a constant always-on internet connection. "

The more interesting bit comes from the source (Kotaku), a Sony representative saying that Sony won't provide additional clarification beyond what they said back at the PS4 reveal. What you quoted above is the interpretation of some guy who'd like these things to be true. So there won't be mandatory DRM, that much we already knew. But that doesn't mean that "you can buy, play, trade used games on the PS4 just as usual" when a publisher chooses to apply DRM to their game (which they are free to do, according to Sony).

The fact that Sony doesn't want to offer additional clarification should be seen as a red flag. It's likely that they are still debating how they will deliver the full story for how DRM will work on their console and what limitations it will bring to gamers. It has already blown up in Microsoft's face, so Sony is very cautious about this issue.

Third parties were always free to put up their own clients on their discs (Origin, Ubisoft & Activision) Yoshida already said there is no DRM. What is there not to understand about that? Third parties will have to create a client that policies gamers depending on whether the game is used or not. Sony said...you can play your games as usual. Microsoft did the work for them....Sony isn't doing it, so they will have to fuck over the consumers themselves.

Okay, E3 is next week, so maybe we'll get some new information by then.

I'm completely confident in Sony. Hold me to it....if they fuck up I'll admit my faith in them was a mistake. Literally do it. I saw MS fucking us over coming and warned people about it, but if Sony or Nintendo did it, it would truly be a blindside to my trust. I am generally a good judge of character so there would truly be a flaw.

Sony said enough for me to understand the issue. MS has just scared the shit out of people to the point that Sony must be in bed with them yet they don't force gamers to pay for online, yet found ways to get money honestly while offering a superior gaming experience. It will be third parties who screw the pooch.

If you'd watch the vid you'd hear him comment about DRM on Pc, there are many games that do not use DRM.

hypo what ? dude you obvisously didn't watch the thing where he actually addresses this. who's the hypo now ?

I haven't watched it yet because my wife has a friend over, but I will. If he only plays DRM-free PC games then I take back all I've said.

Yep he spoke about DRM free PC games. He spoke about the benefits of having a console as well and how disappointed he was in MS.

I swear I thought he was about to cry or pop a blood vessel. I feel bad to this guy, he was so loyal to MS for a decade. What a shame. I already told everyone that its common sense Gamestop is going to hike up prices on Xbox gamers just to survive.

I dont fell bad, he has other options, one being to just stop playing games. He is a grown man

Now with that being said, it was a good rant, and i at least learned what MS is doing now.

We all know hes a grown man but he's also a personality. He's called the Angry Gamer for a reason. All Sony has to do is say yet again at E3..."Yeah, we don't have DRM" and he's on the boat with them. He also explained the difference between creating an architecture which restricts your consumers and leaving the DRM to third parties, which is a great point. There is a huge difference. MS took it upon themselves to screw their loyal consumers royally.

Well this proves a point I made before.

Sony fans will defend Sony no matter what they do. Just as long as they can point to something else for being worse.

Sure PS4 has DRM, but since it isn't as strict as MS they get all the praise.

That's the thing though, isn't it? There's no reason to defend Sony, because they haven't screwed it up. They're not the ones presenting anti-consumer "features" with their new console. So why do you say Sony fans defend them no matter what? Sony haven't changed their policy. They haven't implemented mandatory barriers that everyone has to go through to use the products they purchased. They leave it up to the publishers, which is just the way it's always been with them. Some games may have online passes, like on the PS3 or 360, but that's still an option for the developers to adopt or not. It is not mandatory.

Options are still given. Things aren't forced on people.

So yeah... Who's defending a console company no matter what? You are, and some others like you. Sony fans don't need to defend Sony since there's no issues on their console. But keep on deflecting. You're almost good at it.
