And PSP:Go is proof that we are generations away.

sony didn't commit to digital with the PSP:Go, it was an option for people who like digital. MS is going all the way, even if you by retail, it will be treated as digital, for everyone.

It will be funny to watch some company trying all-digital and always-on too early... So I fully support people trying to make MS believe almost everybody's ready and eager. O-)

We always knew it was coming, but its not time yet and MS tried to force it down everyones throats. Its not time just yet.

I find the general beliefe among internet users that Sony isnt 100% on board with pretty much everything MS is doing is.......strange.

It's still honeymoon for Sony fans and since Sony has never deceived them before, they are willing to trust Sony on this issue.

I trust Sony...I dont trust EA and Activision and I dont trust Microsoft. Trust doesn't meant I wont buy their product, just means I dont trust them. I trust Sony, Nintendo and Steam because they've earned it.

i will never embrace a digital future. i like collecting cases

I answered no. But I see the way the wind is blowing. However I will never buy into a model where you have to pay $60(US) for a DL game that you can't sell/trade-in to release some cash. PSN+ model seems a reasonable start in the all digital age. Some sort of day 1 loyalty programme would be good to. If you buy 5 new release games within the 1st week of release then you get the next new release game at half price, or something like that.

Why do you trust Sony? They are the company who introduced a proprietary storage format for the last video game system they launched.

Ok...what does that have to do with the games? I'll just buy a console with a big enough HDD, no problem. Thankfully Nintendo remedied their little issue with HDD space by allowing us to buy our own and secondly we know nothing about the PS4's HDD space. I trust Sony as a game developer and console manufacturer. They made a mistake with the PS3...but then again I didnt buy the PS3 until they  mended the pricing problem, but it didnt mean I dont trust them. I found out later the design was Kutaragi's fault and he stepped down from his position taking full responsibility for the issue.

My point is that Sony isn't acting particularly consumer-friendly and certainly not to the degree you have repeatedly claimed recently. They will backstab you, so watch out.

Sony has made mistakes but they aren't dumb. They've never truly backstabbed gamers....MS has in the past.

Depends on what we define as "backstabbing", but that's not really something I want to pursue in this thread. I'll leave you alone now.

::Cough::ProfitExploitation::Cough:: But yeah...another topic.

the day that happens i may as well just stick to steam for all my gaming needs.

Music CDs still exist Disc based Videogames should too. Choice is a good thing.

this.   hell, they still sell records.

Indeed.

And IOS has never sold a physical game in existance and is rapidly overgrowing the home console market. Its clear many people are prepared for a digital future, even if core gamers are not. Me included.

iOS games are also usually between $0.99-$6.99, not $60.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)
