Give me a link that shows an official Sony response stating that PS4 wouldn't implement some sort of DRM? I certainly don't see any.

Okay, in that case... I still don't think so... there will always be physical copies until everyone is connected and I don't think that will happen by next gen

So you believe Sony who has an online pass for all current 1st party games, already tried cutting out pre owned market and physical media with the PSP Go, has already admitted DRM is on the console if publishers want it, and who filed a trademark to be able to completly block used games even without an internet connection is going to have DRM free console.
That is an interesting opinion.

"At a roundtable this morning, Sony's game studios chief, Shuhei Yoshida, told reporters that any requirement for users to register a game online in order to play it would be left to game publishers. Sony won't require that."

Well sony confirmed no internet connection required and gamestop confirmed used games can be traded... How the hell would they possibly enforce it?

The watermarked disc patent.
Sony admitted publishers are free to use DRM on PS4
Sony says online is not required for PS4
Sony patents a method to block used games without an internet connection.
1 + 1 +1 = 3

I believe what was stated that PS4 doesn't require a constant internet connection. Contant internet connection and no internet connection is a pretty big difference.

Yes, ignore the fact that sites reported sony denied the patent is in relation to the Ps4. Ignore the fact that gamestop confirmed Ps4 will allow trade ins.... that throws a wrench into that equation. The DRM sony confirmed really just sounds like online passes... "registering your game online"
