I stayed in cambodia and philippines for a long time an dthey had a stable broadband wireless internet connection an dthey ar elike one of the poorest countries in the world.Where i am from ,, its considered a developign country and teh connection is decent enough to loig on once every day. i mean whever you switch the machine on to play games you would be registerign it safely for the next 24 hours. it only takes fe wmintures. i do not see the big deal

Makati has a stable internet. I'll give you but that becasue it is the business district of our country, almost all the rich people are there.

Some question have you visited a lot of places from the Philippines? Have you experience a strong tyhpoon?

You know because I have.

After a  strong typhoon I have experienced days up to week without an internet connection you know why? Because it was damaged by the typhoon even our cable line got damaged. No cable and internet for days luckily I have a console that can play games on those days. Can I do that with the Xbone?

Did you know last week when I created the Japan sales thread? I can't even post it properly due to unstable connection.

Majority of places in Philippines has a poor connection. Even in NCR and Major cities from other regions, there some places with an unstable connection . Some of my friend even complain that there's no interent connection in their home.

Philippines isn't just ready  for the Xbone ATM. We aren't always on.

The deal breakers:

- Play offline for up to 24 hours on your primary console
- Play offline up to one hour if you are logged on to a separate console accessing your library
- Can’t game offline after these prescribed times until you re-establish a connection, but you can still watch live TV and Blu-ray and DVD movies

- Third party publishers may opt in or out of supporting game resale and may set up business terms or transfer fees with retailers

- Loaning or renting games won’t be available at launch

I wonder if they actually mean "one at a time", if not, DEAL BREAKER:

- Requirements: you can only give them to people who have been on your friends list for at least 30 days and each game can only be given once

IMO, these (the ones listed above) are all stupid decisions and I hope SONY doesn't follow suit.

All I read on these forums is the negatives about these changes, not one of you relentlessly bashing these changes has any foresight to see the future benefits of this system. In 5 years time a lot of you are going to look frankly stupid imo. The change is coming as Steam has shown over the last 10 years, it's time you all started considering all the angles and not just your negative narrow viewpoint.

A connected console was always the direction Microsoft was taking ever since they committed to building the Xbox Live environment. In a few years you will see Sony desperately back tracking to add a internet connection requirement for a enhanced experience as you see all the extra functionality that having a permanent internet connection will produce.

I've never been without internet for 24 hours in over 10 years at home and for the last 4/5 years I've always had a backup 3G wifi connection courtesy of my phone wherever I go, some people really do live in the dark ages if this site is to be believed.

Don't bother quoting/replying to me, I have no intention of debating with the same people rehashing the same whinging that they've been doing for the last 3 weeks. We'll see by the end of the year just how many people are really bothered by these policies outside of gaming forums.

If MS wishes to be like steam, they should at least have the decency  to sell full retail games at $5-$20 like Steam does, since we're only getting the digital copies and don't actually "own" our own games. THEN perhaps I might give the Xbone a second look.

But until then, I will be staying FAR away from the Xbone, while enjoy actually OWNING the games I purchase with my hard earned money on my PC and soon to be Wii U, where I can actually sell my used games over Amazon, or where ever I damn well please if I so chose. I know, what a concept!

It took time for Steam to grow and for the PC market to adapt to the lockdown of content that the PC market saw before insanely cheap games and constant deals started to happen in the PC market. Expecting MS to put Forza 5 online for digital download for $40 is not realistic at all and makes no sense.

You earlier said you "live off of selling used games", why should MS or Sony or Nintendo or any of the publishers pander to you at all? You're not a customer of them.

The 24 hours connection policy makes me think MS doesn't care about the military.

MS IS UNPATRIOTIC CONFIRMED!!!

I really don't understand why people complain a lot about MS policy on XBOX ONE. Will it really change our gaming life?

I really don't know anyone around me doesn't connect to PSN or XBLIVE when they play games. Now, I think the majority people use WIFI connection. It means when the console is switched on, it will be automatically connected to internet. So why can't you connect to internet only once per 24hrs?

Thats in your life. In your world. I used to work for Direct Tv. Ive been to alot of neighborhoods that didnt have any internet access.  Yes in 2011 when i worked there. Ive been to alot of neighborhoods that had no internet access.. Low income neighborhoods. alot of neighborhoods in the county and country. on the East coast. Yes this changes alot. Those people already cant get a xbox. But who am i.. just a guy who wishes console gaming was kept simple i shouldnt have to worry about extra nonsense

Sadly, not everyone see it that way. And it's just not about that, some people have beliefs. Some don't use internet at all because of privacy issues. A lot of people use it but don't use things like FB or twitter because of privacy. In fact, I have known of a few people that will NEVER use the internet because once your information is there, you can never delete it completely. You can try, but something will always be there. A former college proffessor shared this with us to let us know the reason we can't e-mail her IIRC.

That's what I know from the few people I know in the U.S. and in Mexico. Now, how many others think like that? I'm sure my former proffesor and friends I know are not alone.

In my case, altough I have good connection, I play offline games(reason my profile cards are very old, not updated) because I mostly like single player games with great story and stuff like that. Sometimes I play split-screen with friends and family. That's not going to be possible anymore if I get an X1 which if continues that way, obviously I'm not interested.

thinking back on my comments. Im really not surprised you have people who only care about whats going on in their life and how it affects THEM. Does this affect me in anyway? no my internet connection is pretty good. But theres no way I'm gonna be ignorant to the fact that MS making this decision affects alot of people. Alot of people i used to rock with on the original and 360..But i guess we live in the day and age where if its not affecting you personally then we ASSUME everyone else isnt affected by this decision. But i guess we would have to put ourselves in other people shoes to think this way which most of us arent capable of doing..But if MS message is if you dont have access to the internet or live in a low income neighborhood or whatever reason . Then i'll guess ill go with the bandwagon and spread that message too.

Don't buy used games unless you like price hikes. Don't bother selling yours either.

I dont and I dont... so no worries there

I dont need the cash.

Then enjoy. Dont get angry at others  who don't like the first-sale doctrine to be screwed with. As an American I treasure it. MS has no right to profit off of resale.

Interesting how people pick and choose when they care about the first - sale doctrine.  I do not rememeber anyone calling Blizzard or Valve up about their first sale doctrine??
