No one knows all the details. Lets just wait for E3. I think Sony will do the exact same thing, If not the game developers will show more love to MS.

At least you hope they will, otherwise MS is on the back foot well and truly.

I don't hope anything. The truth is that Gamestop pissed off the developers so bad that they will make it happen. It's not sony pulling the strings, its the game makers.

Gamestop is already screwed up enough but they are protected by first sale doctrine. They have the same rights as an individual consumer, they just made a business off of it. There are many mom and pop used game stores all over the US that Gamestop hasnt bought out yet. Question though, if Sony created a cloud system that locks the console based on purchases and forced it down Gamestops throat as well could they be considered "string pullers" as well?

See you have no clue if PS4 is doing the same thing or not, and most likely is. If not, they will be getting the shaft. 3rd party is behind this. Why other would they do this, just to piss off customers? No, this is the software giants saying, Play ball or we will stop making  your games. If sony doesn't do this, they will lose out big with 3rd party.

You have a axe to grind and MS is the target. E3 we will learn more.

Third party aren't stupid, if Sony denies them...whose console do they put their games on if fans turn their back on MS for turning their backs on them first? Third parties essentially screwed MS because they knew they would make the anticonsumer decision all on their own. What kind a of gaming company designs a system solely designed to restrict their gamers gaming abilities?

I already had my Wii U and then I am done with the new generation.

The internet fans are not the gaming community and I think most of you forget this on the internet. we are such a small percentage, most don't even know of the blow up online. Like I said you have a axe to grind and Xbox is the target. It will happen on PS4. You hope it won't but you don't get why it's happening. MS is not planning how to piss off custmers, they are getting pushed hard by developers. I can see EA, Activision and many others saying, if you do not do this, X1 will get exclusive rights that you won't. Boom, right there. PS4 will jump and jump as high as they want. I knew this was going to happen. Gamestop is the reason, sorry but all the cheap people out their made this happen. I seen it years ago.

2. DRM. Its coming to both consoles and a LOT of it.  MS will do this through mandatory installs and online authentication while Sony will use their watermarked disc trademark. According to Giantbomb Activision, EA, and Ubisoft are demanding it on both consoles and neither MS nor Sony will tell them no. Those publishers are far too large to simply ignore.

4. Profit. MS and Sony arent blind. Theyve seen Steam and the IOS store and realize just how profitable cutting out disc manufacturing and retail would be.

Sony left it to publishers. If read the XBOX ONE detailed policies, you will find out that MS also leave it to publishers. What is the difference between them?

OK. I understand

MS can do no right
Sony can do no wrong

MS did not leave it up to publishers. They did it to sound like Sony when Sony responded appropriately first but yet backed it up by saying there is no DRM on their console and if there is any it will be a third party decision. Look up their Azure cloud system...they've pressured Gamestop into letting them and publishers in on the profit. Xbox Live accounts are tied to it. This caused Gamestops stock to drop 5%.
