Forums - Sony - New DRIVECLUB PS4 video – behind the scenes at Evolution Studios

From Playstation blog.

"Hi everyone, I’m proud to represent the very talented team here at Evolution Studios, and to introduce this video, which shows some of our key team members involved in the brilliant “Conversations with Creators” PS4 video series.

It’s been our ambition for nearly 10 years to create a powerfully connected racer that lets you have fun in the world’s best cars, on the world’s fastest roads, sharing the experience with your friends in a Club. A racer that keeps you constantly connected with the community – a connected community of clubs that’s not about posting status updates at every opportunity, but about sending and playing challenges and always racing together to achieve more."

HNNG.

Great screens...

The 30fps comments is a little weird... 30fps racing games have a huge disadvantage over the immersion.

Good to hear that it isn't a simulator, hopefully handling more along the lines of GRiD or NfS (or PGR if we want to go back that far) where I can drift round every corner. There is a time and place for sensible braking!

This does look really good, I look forward to seeing more at E3

WOW now I see the epic gif... really good.

Yeah. I guess they went for more eye candy over fps.

Personally, I'm not fussed about it.. as long as it's fun to play.

The key about not talking about FPS is just because who knows what issues you will get by the end of development. It would be easy to say yep 60FPS and then by the end you realise you cannot do it, and then you look pretty silly.

Making an indie game : Dead of Day!

I gotta say..Locations are pretty rural right now...

Those locations are gorgeous and exactly what I was hoping for. Mountain roadways really are the best. This will be what sets DriveClub apart from Gran Turismo, these real-world, non-track locations.

I'm guessing teams will have their own custom colors and such, which is nifty.

lookin goooooood!!!
