Forums - Politics - Report: Verizon providing all call records to U.S. under court order

http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/06/06/us-usa-wiretaps-verizon-idUSBRE95502920130606

People may call me a partisian hack, but i dunno.  I'd like to see that court order reviewed.  It seems a bit... overly broad to me.  Searching the phone records of literally everyone with a verizon wireless phone.

I am really amazed at how little privacy we have now. And how little it takes to infringe on what privacy we have left.

For a country that is supposed to promise privacy as a right, this is just ridiculous

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

you can have privacy without cell phone or internet. :)

Cell phones were never really private.

I'm not a fan of big government and all these fun shenanigans, but I'm not going to do anything about it so I'm not going to complain. Maybe one day, I'll create a black hole and send congress in it so implode/explode.

Gestapo is watching.

It is all just a lie; so that people get overconfident and get fucked from the rear.  All the liberty they say they have is actually an illusion.

this shit needs to stop. its like USSA. you cant give money to someone without being audited or asked your religion and what you prayed for, you cant talk on the phone or go anywhere without big sister tracking you, wifi can even track you in your house.

I welcome breaking the broken union up and being in my own state without the tyranny of DC.

Might as well be a full on dictatorship then, Western "democracies" seem to act like them anyway, even more recently though due to the excuse of "terrorism". I guess Ancient Greece was and will remain the only true democracy. Technology liberates us but empowers them

The most powerful countries are not ruled by the people for the people, but by agendas of powerful people that want to be more powerful than they are, and keep the masses ignorant and happy so that they can make all they want.    In the USA as with many other countries this "democracy" and "capitalism" is serving them to make the people "happy" with all the B$ of the "land of oportunity"; but then from the shadows this agendas are going further and further with their true intentions and ripping peoples rights; because they dont care about the people.   The sad thing is that most people does not care to go deeper, and just face the ilussion of freedom and human rights; and they are happy with that.

And yeah; USA is using all this terrorism as excuse to do what they please.   That way the whole country is unified against "the evil" and so if there are different kind of problems in the country (did on purpose); then some terrorist crap happens (lovely coincidence); an the president goes live an speaks about how they will defeat terrorism; and then all the buzz and the bad things the government was doing disappear; and people stays focused on the terrorism and forget their rights are being screwed.

In general, if the ruler of a country does not work for his people; any system ends up being a piece of $hit; but democracy and capitalism give you the more tools to "enslave" people easier; if you have no good intentions with the people you are supposed to rule.

And now everyone holds their gun a little tighter lol

People are so worried about their gun rights that they've let the government take all their other rights
