Devs with an impressive track record, though.

Not really. What new, revolutionary games have they made in recent years? Few, even arguably none. As for hardware, their track record would say that got lucky with the Wii rather than it being their consitsent success when you look at how the N64 and GameCube sold.

What revolutionary games has anyone else made in recent years?

You cannot possibly be saying that Nintendo doesn't have an impressive track record as a game developer .

Unfortunately their franchises sell always extremely well, even on a lower install base. You can say about Skyward Sword what you want but the graphics style for an  AAA Title was new and revolutionary. Also the first game after years to come that nailed sword movement with a controller (still wasn't perfect, unnecessary motion gaming parts but the swords movement itself was great)

Yes and no. Some do, most don't, and they are proven to not be able to save console sales when we look at previous examples.

Skyward Swords graphics were not new or revolutionary. Why do you think they were as I'm now just a bit confused. Cell shading was huge in the early 2000's, and happy-fluffy-everythings-round-and-bright graphics have been in games for years, the best example being WoW. Limbo was revolutionary, Crysis, Ocorina of Time etc, they all blew everything aprat but no game has done that for a loooong time now.

Cause skyward sword wasn't just cell shading. And I was never talking about character models, I was talking how they gave it a water color effect. I saw some hd dolphin footage from sykward sword. And damn, it really suffers from the 480p. It really looked like a painting.

That's just a low res texture pallet. That isn't impressive really.

Halo redefined the fps genre. Many RTS games blitzed the genre (DoW, SupCom), CoD showed how people will pay for the multiplayer now, WoW - need more be said for that, Mass Effect/Dragon Age has the super story emphasis which was new, GoW/Unreal 3 brought in 3rd person cover etc. Things have happened, just not for a while now though.

Halo is a 2002 IP. Every other game you mentioned isn't revolutionary, they just expanded/made people know something that was already done before. Wii Sports was revolutionary, Endless Ocean also was in a certain extent, and, if we trace back even further in the Nintendo IP library, I'm sure we can find many o ther games that also would fit the "revolutionary" description.

Wii Sports was revolutionary how? Arcades have had that type of game for decades, and Endless Ocean? I've never even heard of that game.

It brought lots and lots of new gamers into the market. It was used in retirement homes, schools, therapy etc. Which pretty much no game up to this point was. I still think WiiFit would fit (heh) the description of "revolutionary" a bit better.

At this point it's clear that he is either ignorant, an idiot or a troll. It's up to him to convince us of what he is.

Yeah, but arguing with trolls is my guilty pleasure :/

Okay, but isn't that a lot like competing in the Special Olympics?
