These kind of stores will never release pre-order numbers, just because it would be benefitial to their competitors - as they could figure out how well they are doing compared to the people who released the numbers and come up with a strategy (or not) to compete against them.

One thing is certain though, releasing this information gets the stores into the press and makes people consider pre-ordering with them. It's a good/free marketing technique.... pretty smart really.

where as the largest retail company Tesco is advertising the ps4 only, wierd no?

Thats good news, let's see if it gets that many preorders in the US.

Well, the PS4 has been beating the Xbox One on Amazon UK for a few days straight, now, so I'll go with that one. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to club some seals.

It never hit Xbox hard and it didn't help Sony sell more software than MS. If you look at non-Japanese games released over there you'll see that the sales figures are most of the time laughable. While UK and US give MS a tremendous edge over competition with more multi-plat sales and on top of that XBL subscriptions. Xbox is really a money making machine without Japan.
