Forums - Sony Discussion - The Last Of Us first Multiplayer Gameplay

Why do people think they are bullet sponges? No one in the video took very many bullets. I think one person took 5 and I think he was dying before the last shot. This game seem pretty realistic. Bullets don't insta-kill people, people don't have lifebars that once they deplete you fall over dead like a rag doll. You can get shot and survive, wounded, getting shot in the leg or the arm changes your stance, staggers you. This is all really cool stuff. The guy in the video just had terrible accuracy and from what I've seen from this game it isn't easy to shoot people.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

You played a 720p game on a 4k TV, congrats :P

In all seriousness, I play my PS3 games on a 105" screen with a 1080p projector, the fact that the games are 720p REALLY show at that size. Can't wait for the PS4, the 1080p crispness is going to be immense.

I play on 70 inch and 720p still looks pretty damn good at that size.  I was sure the jaggies would come out then but I was surprised to actally not see any.  105" is monstrous though so I can see how 720p might not be as good then.

that TV supposely upscale everything to 4k. it felt like it ran at 60 fps.

Why so much Gears of War similarities.

Exactly my thought, but I think that is a good thing. The original Gears is one of the most immersive, tense, tactical MP games of this gen imho. Something the sequels went away from imho. I love the slow moving around each level trying to set up the next encounter and the tactics that look to be involved. Only a couple of worries:

Bullet sponges, even with weapons that seem like they should be poweful.
A big emphasis on melee combat is always a worry. I think melee is broken in Uncharted, I hope it works a lot better here.
Molotov's insta-kill? I hope not.
Still not pleased about wall hack perk.

Overall though the MP is looking pretty amazing.

4k will be awesome when it's affordable and enough content is available for it.  Bet you'll be going to the store after E3 to play the ps4, you lucky bastard!! :-p

You might want to watch the video again and pay a little more attention to how many bullets people are actually taking. They are not bullet sponges. The combat is also much different than in Uncharted, which was a simple hitting mechanic with one hit capability. Last of Us look much more complex in melee.
