So the expected by a lot of people Wii U boost is nowhere to be seen, even I expected it to be somewhere in the 27-28k range thanks to a few game releases and the alleged bump from xbone and PS4 negative news.

Vita barely breaking 30k and selling 20k less than PSP is just ohh...

PS3 strong as always.

Very weak opening for Resident Evil Revelations, expected way better as it was named the "Old School RE". Shame, probably being a late port from a handheld didn't help it, don't see other reasons honestly.

who expected Wii U boost in June? I sure didn't. Minimum earliest for any kind of boost is Pikmin 3, and I don't even see that doing much. The real sweet spot with Wii U is going to be when Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario 3D, Wii Fit all come out and maybe Yoshi to a lesser extent.

Don't you think that people excited by games like Smash Bros and Mario Kart are the ones who already jumped in the pool blindlessly?

as it should be.  Now we wait for PS4 to add to those

Either the consumers are still confusing Wii U with U, thinking Wii U gamepad is just another add-on, or the fact that Wii is outselling Wii U still is a sign that Nintendo cut off support for it prematurely.

At least Wii U has outsold Virtual Boy (almost four times), so it's not completely a failure.

Pretty good numbers for RE:R, even on Wii U in a relative sense. Played the demo yesterday. Thinking about picking it up, along with Walking Dead. Feeling a distinct lack of zombie games in my collection right now. I need a bit of survival horror re-training before TLOU.

Or it's a sign that the Wii U was poorly designed and aimed at no one and everyone at once.

As usual, good 3DS and PS3, and good for their age XB360 and PSP.
And again as usual, PSV, Wii, Wii U and DS are... Oompa Loompas.

That might be a factor but I think number one reason is not many games, Lego City is the only exclusive since launch

Some maybe but most people dont buy consoles because they know eventually it will get games, more like they buy it once the games they want release. At least thats the way I am.

Anyone else seriously worried that 3 8th gen systems are out and....

The 1st is selling decently

One is pretty much dead outside of it's home territory. (Look for the double meaning! Jk)

And the most recent one is flopping around with no games mode.

Nah.  Both Wii U and Vita will start to pick up after a price cut and a few more games launch.  Nothing spectacular, mind you, but a decent boost.  Vita may also be helped by the fact that it can remote play EVERY PS4 game that doesn't require the PS4 Eye.  I also expect PS4 and, to a lesser extent, Xbox One to do well when they launch.

@bolded

Are you sure that the VITA cannot do the EYE games? I mean, doesn't it have a camera AND a mic? Maybe some PS EYE games can be done?
