Auctions to secure a pre-order for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox One fetched more than $500 on eBay post reveal of the new console.

Auctions ended May 30 received bids of $455, $485, and $510 in an effort to pre-purchase the hardware from sellers prior to release.

Microsoft has not yet disclosed release date or pricing information for the Xbox One. As a result, retailers including GameStop Corp., Best Buy Co. Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. have not begun pre-order sales for the hardware.

Meanwhile, the Xbox One currently ranks as the No. 1 ‘Most Wished For‘ product in Amazon’s Video Games division.

The Xbox One will utilize an 8-core CPU, 8GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray disc drive, 802.11n Wireless with Wi-Fi Direct, HDMI, and USB 3.0.

The new Kinect, included with each Xbox One, includes a 1080p HD RGB camera and features 30 frames-per-second color, Time of Flight technology, and Microphone Arrays.

The Xbox One Controller features an integrated battery compartment, Impulse Triggers, Wi-Fi Direct Radio Stack, and a Precision Directional Pad.

The Xbox One will launch later this year.

$455 is not too bad as that is $400 plus tax. Seems like the $400 base price and $500 for premium model would be the final price. Big surprise would be anything under or over those.



Pre-orders are such an easy way to get scam on Ebay; your buyer protection only last for X amount of weeks and after that there's nothing you can do to get your money back if you don't receive your item. I really don't recommend anyone to buy one of those.

I would NEVER purchase anything on ebay that i won't get in 45 days (time period you can make a claim). After that time period it's the seller's money to enjoy without having to give you anything. So great job to the pre purchasers there goes a few grand in scams lol.
