Forums - Nintendo - NSMBU Pro Controller Support

Coming around or before New Super Luigi U comes out.  Finally!  I actually put the game aside for a while hoping this would come.  I hate using the remotes, and I don't like that the gamepad just shows a matching image of what's on the screen.  The Pro is perfect for this game.

This is something that should've existed day one. Glad its finally coming tho.

I do understand and appreciate the reason you dislike using the game pad (if its just showing a duplicate, Nintendo should give developers an option to simply disable it and put more power to the system) however the button layout is identical, is it just the feel of the remote or what?

I hope more and more games will get pro controller support. I shelved my Wii because of having to use the wiimote. I could actually support WiiU if enough games do this.

I like the gamepad.  If it's offering something I think it's great.  But I like the feel of the pro-controller slightly more.  Mostly though, I just don't like a bright duplicate of the same image shining up at me.  I like just one image.  It's like watching a show on two TV's at the same time... if anything it just breaks the fourth wall and kills emersion.

When the Gamepad is used correctly, like in Batman:AC, it's awesome and takes gaming to another level.  Unique audio and game features on the screen are really cool.  But a duplicate image is just a distraction and not a bonus and I'd rather playing with the pro.

Why did this take so long? If Homebrew for the Wii is any indication this shouldn't be more than ~20 lines of code :/

Double Post.

maybe, just MAYBE, they'll have classic super nintendo controls. that would be nice. That has been my only main criticism of the nsmb games. Why shake the mote to spin-jump when we already established you just hit x.

They already do when you play with the Gamepad.  I assume this will continue over with the motionless Pro pad.

When is the patch coming? Didn't bother finishing the game as the pad controller feels unnatural for this game.
