That got my attention. Thats just a petty excuse to sit on your high horse. MS have said even before the reveal, that games would be at E3, 15 exclusives in the first year, 1 billion invested in games, numerous employees said they were going to deliever at E3....

But nevermind.......were in the here and now. It is stupid to not think about the near future. sigh.

Why is it always dealt in absolutes? MS is trying to walk the fine line between core and casuals, appealing to both at the same time. Reveal was for them, E3 is for us. In hindsight, they should have thrown more core games into the reveal, but the 50/50 approach seems to be their strategy, and while the shitstorm was bad, it essentially got all the casual stuff out of the way, paving for their best E3 yet, we hope.

But they didn't watch the reveal. We did. Just like what will happen at E3

And he was arguing the reveal was for the core gamer. I have to disagree with that

I agree Microsoft is trying to walk a line between core and casual. But the reveal wasn't an attempt to do so... or a best a god awful attempt

E3 may change everyones minds. But we were talking the reveal. Btw he is the first person I have heard say the reveal was for the core gamer.

I think it is a no-win scenerio. If they truly did 50/50 for reveal and E3, core gamers would complain that half the conferences weren't tailored towards them. This way, it gets all the casual stuff out, and E3 is just meant for games. Long term, this could be the better strategy if MS nails it offcourse.

But ya, for the next 10 days, I suppose it doesn't matter and we can only focus on what they have shown thus far.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I hope they do surprise, I'm interrested to see the new Forza and hope there will be a new PGR. But most of all I want to see the new Mass Effect.

I also want to hear how Kinect will integrate into core games if at all. It's so precise now they can do way more than they could with the first Kinect.

Unlike many here, I'm glad they didn't focus on games at the reveal, now that we know the features of the console they can focus on the games and not talk about that TV stuff.

First don't compare PS3 and 360 to Xbox One and PS4. Development  for cell was the issue. Now both are x86. It's apples and oranges. Actually apples and... speed boats or some shit like that.

And you are determined to defend them. And you didn't correct shit btw

You could have liked everything at the reveal. But to say it wasn't geared toward the casuals is insane. I understand why Microsoft is doing it. The casuals offer them more money to be made. They want Wii numbers, not 360 numbers. Smart business

The problem with the reveal is that the type of gamer who tunes into a reveal like that is core gamers. The same people who look a couple times a week for info on a new console 6 months before it even releases. And they felt slapped in the face after the reveal.

Your looking at this as my opinion vs your opinion. You need to look at it as your opinion vs everyone elses. Go look on twitter or facebook. Go look on youtube. Go look at forums such as this. Sites like kotaku and see what the journalists are saying and the comments that readers leave. I'm sure it's just Sony fanboys though

And yes, if Microsoft comes thru at E3 it can make all this mean nothing. But we are living in the here and now. And people feel like Microsoft abandoned the core gamer.

If you want to believe that the reveal and everything in it was for the core gamer, then go ahead. After that I can sell you a bridge to no where if you'd like

I did correct you. You offered no rebuttal to this particular comment at all in your reply, you just pretended it wasn't there.
Madden is 1 game. EA showed 4, then there was Forza and Quantum Break. Ok. 2 casual games in CoD and Madden = whole reveal catered for the casuals.
Good to know.

First don't compare PS3 and 360 to Xbox One and PS4.

Why? The thing people do when looking forward is look to the past... How do you think people come up with estimates and predictions? You have to use the data that is available to you at the time, of course unless you have a time machine I could borrow?

If you want to believe that the reveal and everything in it was for the core gamer, then go ahead.

I don't think their reveal was either "core" nor "casual". It was a console reveal... THAT'S IT!! They showed some casual things like CoD and Madden but other games shown in Forza and Quantum Break were not. I'm still not sure why you're trying to label it... MS want to show games at E3... You know, the yearly show primarily about video games... This discussion is going nowhere. We've already argued this point and I even gave you CoD and Madden being casual, you on the other hand refuse to even consider my opinion and are being closed minded about this. 2 games are casual, 2 games were not nor are sports or TV. Here, 2-2=0. If anything they both cancel each other out... Jeez...

And yes, if Microsoft comes thru at E3 it can make all this mean nothing. But we are living in the here and now. And people feel like Microsoft abandoned the core gamer.

"People" are idiots. "People" should know that MS hosted the CONSOLE REVEAL at their Redmond campus, not E3, not a games reveal a CONSOLE REVEAL! E3 was only about 3 weeks after the CONSOLE REVEAL, so why would they show games and ruin the surprise?  It's "good business".

Ok cool

A simple google search will lead you to the answer why comparing development for the Ps3 and 360 is apples and oranges to the Xbox One and PS4.

As stated on another thread, I ain't doing this shit no more. Not just with you, but anyone. If you want to buy the Xbox One, PS4, or both that's up to you. And I hope you will be happy with that decision and have no regrets. But this, not just between you and me but the whole site in general is petty imo

That's pretty much it

Google search? You're rebuttal is "search on google". Then I'm guessing you came across an article right? An opinionated article... Right... That isn't fact.

You quoted me first, (this time) and now all of a sudden it's "petty". Ok. Well. I will be happy with my already pre-ordered X1, hope you are with whatever combination you choose also

When talking about next gen stuff, it frankly quite absurd
to go through lists of techie specs, that no one should have heard
A little spontaneity, keeps the conversation keen
You need to find the way to say exactly what you mean

Supercaligflopisticxboxoneadocus!

Even though the used game blocks are something quite atrocious
If you say it loud enough, you'll feel better than the posers

When Nintendo fans are boasting, the RAM-envy is intense

Just smile and mention 'GPU', they are quickly on defense

I'm sure even Sony affectionados will realize in a flash;

an Xbox would be better upon their own first hardware crash

Oh!

Supercaligflopisticxboxoneadocus!

Say it and wild Sony fans would not seem so ferocious!

Supercaligflopisticxboxoneadocus!

If you say it softly the effect is quite hypnocious!

Of course you can say it backwards, which is
sucodaenoxobxcitsipolfgilacrepus!

might mean they paid big money and got a mega exclusive, e.g. Grand Theft Auto 5. Gotta remember, this is where third parties pick sides and try and get their favorite consoles into the front runner spot. Look at Ubisoft, they went with Nintendo because Just Dance makes stupid amounts of money, and outside of Assassin's Creed, they are pretty well geared to Nintendo's market. Another reason why EA has been giving Nintendo so much trouble, they make money off Microsoft, they tried Nintendo and got shut down hard.

Wanna know which exclusives are going where, try and figure out who makes most of their money off of which consoles.

I predict

Complete removal of all DRM
Unveiling of a "Slim" model
Sub 200 dollar price

What's so difficult to understand here? It's quite simple really.
Don Mattrick you see, is a bit of an admirer of my work. He has taken it upon himself to sit in attendance at Sony's press conference, and every time a new speaker comes on stage he will flip a coin. Heads, the speaker lives. Tails, he dies. If chance should have it, SCE's hierarchy will be devastated.

For xbox I predict a 500 dollar pricetag, confirmation of DRM and used games activation, but they will continue to be hazy about always online.  Microsoft will announce a megaton third party exclusive.

For PS4 I predict a little over 400 dollar price tag, they will copy Nintendo's premium package with shockingly similar benefits, a new retrofitted Sony Home.  Sony will have slim pickings on third party exclusives compared to Microsoft.

I predict neither company will have more than 2 third party exclusives.

Nintendo will unveil 6 or more third party exclusives of varying quality.   New HD Mario game.  A new peripheral of some sort, possibly a resurrected vitality sensor but streamlined and with more functionality.  New hardcore franchise.
