Reading all posts this was my very first ' thought' . By what standards do people consider games overrated. Especially people that frequent this forum.

Is hype prior to release overrating a game? Maybe most dissapointing would be the right description.

Exactly. Something can't be the worst in the genre and also most overrated since everyone puts it as the worst (which again, is completely laughable as there's far worse. No objective person can claim this).

Worst jrpg: Hyper Dimension Neptunia series, Final Fantasy 13
Over-rated jrpg: Ni No Kuni, Final Fantasy 13
Under-rated jrpg: Rune Factory Frontier, Monster Hunter Tri

Just to clarify, if we are adding action adventure games with RPG elements like Demon/Dark Souls, Monster Hunter games, FF: Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers and Pandora's Tower to the list, then MMORPGs should count as well.

Disclaimer: I haven't played any RPGs that haven't made it to a Nintendo console, but here's my two cents:

Best: Xenoblade Chronicles, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn

Worst: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, Baroque

Most Overrated: Don't really have anything to put here, but The Last Story might fill this role when I get around to playing it.

Most Underrated: Don't really have anything to put here, but Fragile Dreams might fill this role when I get around to playing it.

Yeah, I'm not really qualified to respond to this poll.

Only if they're Japanese.

MH would most definitely not count, but Crystal Bearers and Pandora's Tower would.

I'm glad Xenoblade is being voted as the best by many people.
