(For my underrated list I tried to use games that I've played with a metacritic score below 70)

Goodness, this thread shows how few JRPGs people have played......

The sight of FF13 or WKC in worst is hysterical. I'm not sure how FF13 can be overrated since everyone on the internet hates it.

Best JRPGs this gen: (My favorites)
1) Demon's Souls
2) Eternal Sonata

Worst JRPGs this gen: (While I still enjoyed both of these, they are definitely at the bottom of my jrpgs this gen)
1) Star Ocean: The Last
2) Cross Edge

Most overrated JRPGs this gen: (Overrated isnt exactly bad)
1) Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
2) Dragon Age 2

Most underrated JRPGs this gen:
1) Eternal Sonata

This is so true! Final Fantasy XIII is not a bad game perse but it was overhype and didn't deliever. Bad games ones that you can't play for more then 5 hours into it.

But it really wasn't overhyped. It was poo-poo'd after its Japanese release and everyone was saying "lol, it's corridor fantasy". Game was popular to hate before it even released.

erm... that was the case. Only JRPG fans tried to go longer than that. I lasted until gran pulse (after managing to fall asleep while playing it) and said enough is enough. This doesnt get any better.

I liked Final Fantasy XIII. It wasn't my favorite JRPG this generation, but I agree with outlawauron that it was far from being the worst (I've read horror stories about Cross Edge), not to mention that it's hard to consider it as an overrated game when it has received more than its share of criticism from both the professional and internet communities.
