The 3DS will dominate this handheld console generation like the original DS did. It will sell at least 120 million units worldwide by the end of its lifetime. No way in hell that the Vita could catch up now. It's all about the apeal to the younger generation, price, and quality software, which the Vita does not have compared to the PSP. Sorry but it's true.

Here is my MAX predictions for each including some historical predictions I made for them.

In order of my earliest predictions I can remember (circa 2007 or 2008) to now.

PS3: 60m, 80m, 100m.
X360: 60m, 80m, 100m.
Wii: 150m, 115m, 105m.

PSP: 85m.
PSV: 15m retired in 2015.
3DS: 100m.

Too early for me to call out anything else.

How can the PS3 have a low end of only 90 when it's already at around 80M at selling for $279?

Well we're all entitled to arbitrary and vague predictions I suppose.

Wii - 103 Million
X360 - 96 Million

As for 8th gen, who knows but maybe.

PS4- 104 Million
XBOne- 34 Million
Wii U- 88 Million

3DS- 110 Million
PSV- 35 Million
It's going to be tough to predict what happens to home consoles in the near future so it's mostly a blind prediction. But gotta start BELIEVING.
