Forums - Gaming - Pachter: "both PS4/Xbox One sell out at launch", estimates PS4 @ $349/XOne @ $399

god, if ps4 is $350 i'm definitely going to go back on my previous statements of not buying a ps4 day 1. that is waaay to reasonable not to grab one right away.

I can see Xbox One being $399 but if PS4 is $349, I expect that to be a bare bones sku to undercut MS. Maybe $349 sku and $449 sku

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

Don't see those prices happening, especially considering the current selling prices of consoles. However, if they do launch at those prices, they will likely sell out.

I expect PS4 to sell far more xbox one isnt givin me a solid motivation to purchase.

For those prices, rather this is complete bulls**t or those holy specs everyone praise for are some really crappy parts and could easily break. YLOD ....RROD :P

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Honest question here: why would he think PS4 is cheaper than Xbone when PS4 has superior hardware? Could the new Kinect really drive the Xbone's price that much?

So far, the only PS4 part that is confirmed to be superior is RAM.   X1's  CPU and GPU information are pure speculation.

From http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-spec-analysis-xbox-one:

In terms of the GPU hardware, hard information was difficult to come by, but one of the engineers did let slip with a significant stat - 768 operations per clock. We know that both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are based on Radeon GCN architecture and we also know that each compute unit is capable of 64 operations per clock. So, again through a process of extrapolation from the drip-feed of hard facts, the make-up of the One's GPU is confirmed - 12 compute units each capable of 64 ops/clock gives us the 768 total revealed by Microsoft and thus, by extension, the 1.2 teraflop graphics core. So that's another tick on the Durango leaked spec that has been transposed across to the final Xbox One architecture and the proof we need that PlayStation 4's 18 CU graphics core has 50 per cent more raw power than the GPU in the new Microsoft console

He is the voice of what the third party cartel wants to happen.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Not gonna happen. $399 will be the minimum price for both consoles and expect those to be the gimped models.

just like he predicted the WiiU would sell out from launch to around march? they wont sell out.

Yeah he will be wrong as usual.

Though to be fair my Wal-Marts had issues stocking the deluxe for It's first month or so, while basic units were EVERYWHERE!

Also no way MS will let Sony underprice them. No chance in hell.

It's just that simple.

Wow the P Man is lowballing those prices

Shit, Id definitely buy them both at launch for those prices!
