Forums - Gaming - MS says gamers will buy everything, including Xbox One

I think people are overreacting to everything MS says now.

The most hardcore gamers DO pretty much end up with every console. So why the phony outrage? He didn't say anything wrong there. Hardcore gamers are going to be interested in Halo, Forza, Respawn's game, Gears, and other new core IP MS comes up with, plus MS will probably money-hat some third party stuff too.

Thats exactly how MS baited gamers away fromm the Playstation and then left them hanging in development halfway through the generation. They know they need them and they know if what they deliver is good people will buy it.

How so? Xbox gamers have better multi-plats most of the time. Have Xbox Live, which they prefer over a crappier free service. And they gave Xbox gamers the most amazing non movie games, which were all blockbusters.

Reminds me of Sony before the launch of PS3.
The anti consumer bit is also a good laugh especially from Sony fans.
Can you do anything you want with your PS3? Of course not, you even agree not to under a new TOS.

Other than allowing for resale, MS policy is no different than whats on PC today.
Sony would never use any form of DRM right? Is that why every PC game I on disc from SOE had an activation code?

I really don't understand this type of comment from MS.

Sony made these comments because they had absolutely annihilated the console market to near monopoly with the PS2 and was in a position to be arrogant. (Not that they should have been!)

Microsoft is in last place. Where do they get off with these comments?

lol here we go again.

Ahem.....(clears throat)

Record profits, market share gains, doing great in the #1 console market. I don't think lifetime sales matter to MS as much as a gaming fan.

Selective reasoning seems to be your forte.

Nintendo expanded its market share more than MS gen over gen, and also posted vast profits.

So even in this selective regard, MS still comes up short.

And I'm certain MS cares about its market share, despite your opinion on the matter.

Again, a far cry from what Sony accomplished with the PS2.

M$ getting very arrogant..

Please. Its not like they told gamers to get two jobs....

And Sony forced Katuragi to step down because of it amongst other things.  Go figure.

XBox One is nowhere near the disaster the PS3 was early on. MS will probably be making a profit on each unit from day 1 for starters.

it actually was worse.

I remember Sony saying something similar to this about the PS3 before its release. Xbox One second place console confirmed?

Thinking fan criteria = corporate criteria seems to be your forte.

MS can look at profits and market share gains in their own regard, never mind Nin/Sony, to be able to make their confident claims.

MS cares about profits more then marketshare....considering NA hasn't seen a price cut since 2008. PS3 has had $150 drop in the last 4 years by comparison.

Again....corporate criteria > ours.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
