Nope.  I think he is cyber-squatting.  All of the ad-links on the site fit the profile of people who do this professionally.  He probably has hundreds of websites for the same purpose.

Do you have any evidence beyond that? Because that's a pretty long bow to draw.

You do realise that the GoDaddy ads that show up are because it's parked, which happens when it's not being used, right?

iI always think of the WWE/WWF case when things like this come up. WWE had used WWF.com for over a decade but because World wildlife fund had been around longer, the site was given to them by the courts

I know it's fun to take shots at the "Evil corporation" here and call them a "bully", but this guy simply registered these websites for the purpose of extracting money in the event that there was an XBox One.  He's not even using them.  I have no respect for cyber-squatters.  They're scammers.

I'm sorry, but the chances of MS choosing the name "Xbox One" for the name of their new console was diminishingly small, nobody would have predicted it in 2011. A far more likely scenario is that the guy was planning on making a fansite for the original Xbox, and it fell through.

do you really think that such experienced guys would choose a name noone ever has used before.

no.1 one as name for a successor?

i guess out of 10mio products this may happen once.In 2011 the new xbox wasn't even confirmed.

Someone using the name wii U 1 /ps 1 right now for two years is doing this because of wii u 3 or the fifth playstation??

btw-the name xbox was used by xboxtechnologies long before microsoft used it .

Reminds me of the dot.com days. This is same.

I highly doubt he is cyber-squatting, nobody had any idea back in 2011 that the next xbox was going to be named xbox one.

That was my point - that the ad-links don't indicate some sort of cyber-squatting, but rather, that they aren't currently using the site. So unless Miguel_Zorro has evidence beyond the fact that the site is parked, then it makes more sense to assume that it was intended as a fansite, not as cyber-squatting.

It was intended as a fan site, but now "Krasimir Ivanov" won't return the domain to Microsoft?  Some fan...

After the Xbox One reveal, a lot of Xbox fans have become rather disillusioned.

For that matter, if he thinks its a stupid name for the new console, perhaps he's hoping it'll force MS to change the name.

Plenty of alternate explanations, when you don't assume that an original Xbox fan necessarily must be a Microsoft fan and a fan of the Xbox One.
