This is actually in connection to about getting a black actor as Human Torch. So I was thinking, if the director decides to assign an actress who isn't black to play as Storm, are you fine with it? Whether your answer is "yes" or "no", which actress who isn't black would you want to play as her?

I'll answer first.

I would say "no!" I mean a big "NO". That's pretty much not the Storm I know. Storm is a very popular black comic character, she's even the most popular black comic book character, and not getting a black actress to play as her even if the hair is white, people would be confused.

But if I can't stop them, then I would like Kelly Brook to play as Storm.

Ororo Munroe aka Storm of gets another ongoing solo with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates and artist Jen Bartel.  Coming soon :)

I am fine if they give white characters to black actors, not the other way around. There are like 5% of black heroes on comics, to give them to white people would be really stuppid. Giving white characters to black actors is a good way to work around the notorious racism that always existed in Comic books.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

I'd agree with it. I'm all against these double-standards from some people.

Though I don't know what actress would be good.

Well I don't think atm there is one good black actress to fit the role. So id settle for a dark latin girl if they need to look elsewhere lol.

There are thousands of amazing black actress waiting for their big break. It is not double standarts at all, there are very little black characters on comics, so it is a good thing to give the white ones to black actors. Not the other way around. Besides, it is also a afirmative gesture, after all, any race that have been through a VERY RECENT slavery, freaking deserves it.

Here in Brazil is the same old crap, we had 300 years of slavering of the black people, and now, the stuppid white people bitch and complaing about any afirmative action, like special standarts to enter at public universities and such.

Equality is to treat the equals as equals, but, when you slave a group for 300 years, you better give them compensation for at least 600 years.

I say that, and I am as white as it gets...

I definitely disagree. Yeah, let's give black people unfair advantages such as hiring them for jobs simply to fill some type of "diversity quota" because before any of us were alive, there was slavery.

If we ever want to leave the racist past behind we need to stop things like affirmitive action as that only plays to say that there was a problem, not that we have overcome it.

We have a black president. I think we can stop with the whole affirmitive action thing don't you think?

Also as for the topic. Storm should be played by a black actress.

I'm against it, but I'm also against the same thing regardless what race the character was originally. It's no longer the same character.

When it doubt, just give it to Denzel...

Has her origin story also changed.

A central part of Storms character is being an African Goddess, so no. I have no problem with race switching when it makes sense or is not an essential part of the character (black Electro? Sure why not.)

Kind of on the fence about the Human Torch, especially since the woman rumored to be Susan Storm is white.
