Mii-gamer you really need to catch the right deals. i paid $350 for the wifi model, PSABR and 32gb. seeing as im a ps+ sub (because of my ps3) i got Uncharted and Gravity Rush aswell the day i bought it. since then ps+ gave me MGS HD colllection,WipEout 2048, Lumines, Virtues Last Reward, SIne Mora, Mutant Blobs,Knytt Underground,Big Sky Infinity,Thomas was alone, Chronovolt, Velocity Ultra and Jet Set Radio. btw i bought mine on Boxing Day, maybe the End of financial year sales will bring a decent deal

thanks 007 and ktay95, the vita just escaped my radar. I am looking around now :P

Around the Network

I have both and my Vita just collects dust. I use my 3DS almost on a daily bases.

It's one rad handheld, I will admit. But very few games that I'm interested is keeping me from looking at its way. :/

But it's not really the price, but rather the memory cards. I mean the fk. That's such a ripoff to curb piracy. I'm saying no to that.

But I've actually held and played one for a while and it's actually really really good piece of hardware. But the software and the memory cards aren't helping.

If however there was a version that was free of mem cards and used SD cards along with a $199 price point and some more games then I could see myself getting one, likely during the end phase of the 3DS, or during a huge drought.

Till then I got my 3DS as long as Pokemon and Monolith's title will last me , so I guess around...2016? Is when it becomes a viable option for me, provided that Vita got rid of memory cards.

I still regret not getting that PSP though, but those were dark times for me. Luckily Vita's backwards compatible right?

the vita is backwards compatible via ps store.. lol

There are a ton of great jrpg's on the Ps store though

finalfantasy (remake) finalfantasy II (remake) finalfantasy III (remake) finalfantasy iv (remake) finalfantasy v (ps1 port) finalfantasy vi (ps1 port) finalfantasy vii (ps1 port) finalfantasy viii (ps1 port) finalfantasy ix (ps1 port) lunar silver star harmony (PSP) chrono trigger (ps1 port) xenogears (ps1 port) wild arms (ps1 port) grandia (ps1 port) wild arms xf (PSP) ys seven (PSP) trials of the sky (PSP) valkyria chronicles (PSP) valhallia knights trilogy (PSP)

and that's on the top off my head, the vita might have the best jrpg selection i have ever seen

Every JRPG you mentioned is also available on the PSP(and a few more thanks to the fact that not every retail PSP game made its way to the PSN).

well no shit RazorDragon, their talking about backwards compatibility.

It's too big and I can't find a single game that grabs my attention. Also it's expensive.

I'd rather just buy a cheap used PSP if I want to just play PS1 classics, and those games. I want Vita for some original titles.

Persona 4 is also a port and is arguably the best game on there. For now, PS1 and PSP I can get elsewhere. Needs some more original titles that ain't some weird spinoff of a main series and some big titles.

PSP has plenty that I will pick up in the future but The Vita doesn't right now. I'll wait for more games 1st, E3 will be pretty deciding for me.

Bolded I have on PsP.

FF1/2 I have on GBA, and FF3 and 4 and ChronoTrigger I have on DS.

The rest I could buy off the PS Store for my PsP - if I didn't have to make headway through a massive pile of backlog already!

Edit - that said, I'm not sure I'll go my whole life without a Vita (it's the only handheld I DON'T own from the last 15 years or so) - but I'd say it'll be late in the generation that I get one - if not when the next iteration of handhelds arrive, and its library is deeper. Some new exclusive turn based/grid RPG/Battle game of high quality (or as I said before - Culdcept! - it's been too long) and Magic 2014. By itself , Magic 2014 is  not enough to make me buy it (I'll have it on home console, but portable would be a nice option) - and it would be nice on a tablet (larger screen, suitable for CCG's) with the power of a tablet I don't yet have, as my current tablet is just a crappy old Android 16gb thing - and I've considered an iPad just to check out some of the iOs library I've heard good things about but can't play, due to not having an iPhone.

That said - I'll never be sure if I'll have an iPad in my life (not a huge apple fan, though I still like my old 120gb ipod. If there's ever a 160gb+ ipad tho.....hmmm) - but I will have a VITA, if not now - sometime over the next decade.

Not enough interesting games.
Also the price is way too damn high

It's just that simple.
