Forums - Gaming - Opinions: The Primary Reason For Microsoft's Focus On Media Entertainment

You overestimate the chinese market, most 360 that got imported there are hacked and the number is comparable to the sales in japan, they could had the chinese dialects for kinect but even if they are able to sell in China I don't see how they could do much better than what they did this gen, now that piracy will be harder on the xbone

I agree, have no idea about the Chinese markets.  I do know it is a huge population and roughly 3x as many people as the USA.  I would think there is some market in there somewhere.  I know Microsoft is and has been looking at them for a while.

And not as easy to hack, or stay hacked will probably help them.  I think that was a reason they came out with the X360 so quickly, you could get a hacked Xbox will all the games (at least here) so easily.

Did you see the neato real time translation from English to text to Chinese text to speaking the Chinese in real time?

Here is when it starts speaking, but the whole demo is interesting:

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

China has nothing to do with it.

Microsoft is a software and services company and with Xbox One, besides gaming they are looking to push their software and services. The more people use their Skydrive cloud storage, create Microsoft (xbox) accounts, use Skype and develop for Wndows...the more successful the company is going to be in the long run.

The end.

microsoft can only hope,i'd say they'd have a better chance of breaking china than the two japanese products

lol, no. china doesn't play fair and won't let xbone or ps4 in regardless.

Although if Xbone does get popular enough, you might see a device that is actually called Xbone released in China.

The product would literally be called 'Xbone released in China'.

Good time.

If Kinect is used to monitor people then China will make XB1 a requirement in every household.

In Communist China TV watch YOU.

Yes. It is important to be very, very explicit with your product names.
