It was a piece of paper with specs written on it + a controller.
And it wouldn't be the first time that Sony fails to launch a console globally at the same time. Actually they were never capable to do that.

But that is something only the internet communities come up with. MS did it before, Sony tried, but failed, MS confirms to do it again and some guys interpret interviews about a totally different context in a way to doubt MS now. Crazy.

Insted Sony showed games running in the hardware... Killzone was running in a PS4 in real-time lol.

Sony had 3 less months to prepare for aswell. I'm wondering if MS would 've had a box to show in Febuary. Anyway, I think it was a smart move on Sony's part as the hype is increased because we are excited to see their console and games.

how bout Sony?
Sony = no hardware at "Reveal". OMG, they're not coming out this year

oh no they didn't have the components assembled in a box yet.  They just had everything software wise showing off months before MS.  They clearly have it finished in design with that teaser and the pics in it.

i remember when they showed killzone3 at 2005 E3 in "Real-time"

Jimmy Fallon was playing it the next day.  He messed up and had the character shooting the cieling so it was clearly actual gameplay.  The only thing that was fake was that the guy couldn't die in the demo (wouldn't want that happening in a conference anyway).

Of course it will. The hardware is fixed - didn't you see the pictures from wired? All that "chaos" you speak of is software which can be easily adjusted now and even after release. A delay of release would only happen if the hardware wasn't ready already which it is.

In 2005, the whole thing was fake:

"To those who weren’t around at the time or who may not recall, at E3 2005, Sony showed a trailer for Killzone 2, which to some looked as though it wasn’t actual gameplay footage despite SCEA VP Jack Tretton stating it was “real gameplay everybody’s seeing out there,” to IGN at the time.

Later, it was revealed by a Guerrilla rep on the US PS forums that it was a render, which showed what was “possible on PS3,” instead of actual gameplay footage which was eventually shown during E3 2007."

Will the PS4? 90% of the users would have said to themselves, or thought to themselves a definitely, YES.
Why? Because Sony said so? Yes. Did Microsoft? Yes.

What is the point of this thread again? Oh, also, Kaz has taken advice from the gaijin. Your sig is out of date.

Uhh, yes?

Hardware is ready and tested, Microsoft is a SW company so any potential issues there are fixable.
