What games not use dedicated servers this gen?

Almost every MP game on console are peer to peer and do not use dedicated servers.
If this rumor is true; it is very good news :)

I asked because the games I played have dedicated servers... GT, MAG, Killzone, Uncharted, Battlefield, etc... the exception is CoD.

True, I guess (did not know all of these games had dedicated), esp. Killzone and Uncharted, I thought it was hybrid but mostly P2P...
But COD (which is by far the most played), EA games, Halo, etc... are P2P. So if this is true (and with Azure I do not see why not) it will be good for gamers anyway

Thats another 360 flaw that is addressed. No more "360 doesn't have dedicated servers, PSN does" talk.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Killzone and Uncharted are peer to peer.

Anyways yes, Mattrick or whatever his name is said this dedicated server thing during the actual reveal when he was going on about 300,000 servers.

Imagine a scenario where Call of Duty has dedicated servers and early DLC on Xbone but is still peer to peer on PS4/WiiU/PC. Would be quite a coup.

Really? I'm pretty sure Killzone 2 is dedicated... 100% sure.

Anyway other that I'm sure: MAG, Warhawk, Resistence 1 and 2, Killzone 3... hell I think all Sony first-party uses dedicated server but I will check.

Edit - U2 and U3 uses P2P.

KZ uses servers for matchmaking and stats but all matches are peer to peer. Similar to CoD.

Uncharted is entirely peer to peer.

Idk about Resistance.

If Activision were to use MS servers for COD multiplayer, would they then end up having to pay MS for the use of the servers?

I found that about U2 and U3... P2P.

But killzone 2 does have dedicated servers. If I create a room someone joins then I leave, there is no host change... I read something about the the aplha code in Killzone official forum... I found.

"KiLLzone 2 did have dedicated server's, we tested them in the pre alpha and alpha codes. Before the Beta. People are using LAG switch's now, that is why you will see players teli port every where.

INSOMNIAC and Zipper also use dedicated server's, we tested those in the pre Alpha and Alpha code's."

Killzone 2 seem to be P2P.

Normally yes from what I heard. But I hope the payment is vast DLCs and other exclusive contents.

Killzone uses a mesh of dedicated servers and peer 2 peer. When it comes to actual gameplay it's peer 2 peer. Various GG employees on GAF have confirmed this.

Maybe that kind of deal could be done with Activision? I don't know how many dedicated servers you would need to host COD, quite a few I would imagine? The 300,000 number that has been doing the rounds sounds impressive but is that number even enough? I guess they can scale if the demand is there.

If this is all confirmed and I don't see why not, from what I have been reading windows azure is impressive, is expanding and makes quite a bit of revenue.

I think this is a clever business move by MS, they have the potential to make a lot of money by offering publishers the ability to have their games on dedicated servers and this is also good for the gamer.
