Forums - Gaming - Could E3 actually be good this year?

Microsoft have said E3 is going to be about games! Several times. They said that the Xone will have 15 exclusives in the first year alone. The article is on the front page... Not understanding your reasoning.

I didn't read the article on the front page, that's my reasoning.

Good, so it's all about the games.

So is that what passes for an apology here?  The rest of this year is going to be a mess here ...

OT:  It could be a legendary E3.  Nintendo will be frustrating, though, as their format is going to be all over the place, but eventually you'll get to see what they're bringing and they REALLY have to bring it hard and they know this.  MS will be at least one hour of nothing but games.  It may be one for the history books.  Sony ... Sony may be the one that ends up being more traditional.  I just don't know if they will be pouring on the games like the other two will unless they go for a 2 hour presser (which is too much).

Regardless, I'm very interested in this E3.  More than the past few years for sure.

Dude, give me a fucking break. I am on here 24/7 reading the threads getting news from them. If I missed something then I missed it. Also, I haven't been paying as much attention to the vgchartz articles of late because I get most of the news in the forums anyways, they're often dupes.

If you think I'm a problem, you're in bad luck. There are much bigger fish to fry my friend.

Might as well reply to your content:

What will be traditional about Sony's as compared to Microsoft's?

E3 will be great for everyone I reckon - Sony and Microsoft have new hardware and the games Nintendo announces at E3 will be playable at best buy around the time of the event.

I'm particularly excited about Nintendo since they are going to be all about the games this year in an hour and a half long direct. No fooling around this time.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Because of Nintendo I see this E3 could have some surprises. But let's be honest, I shall always keep my hopes very low after last years event...
And even though I'm a Nintendo fan, I still want some good hopes for Sony and to some extent Microsoft, they really need to address these conflicting news that came after the reveal...

I think every year is good. The only reason people think the last few years have been shite is because the internet leaks everything beforehand. Imagine if not a single secret got leaked. Everyone would think that e3 was awesome.

Yeah it's gonna be a blast!

There can hardly be any 'fillers' during the press conferences due to current systems being promoted and new systems and games introduced.

If you like train wrecks (and I know you do!), this E3 could be grand indeed! But unless Sony and Microsoft completely revamp their approaches, I am less than optimistic that games will be the focus. The only reason I have any hope Nintendo will be different is because they're abandoning the traditional approach entirely.

Yeah, anything could happen. Maybe a TV series about a giant enemy crab directed by Hideo Kojima? Who knows!

i would like to think so, new consoles must mean something exciting to show us
