3D Land did very well sales-wise, despite it being a bit on the easy side for my tastes. I can certainly see why they'd get the idea to make more of it.

It seems like the alternate characters are playable in single-player, which feels like the important thing to me.

I do get it though. MK surprisingly was the best of the show even though probably the least anticipated game here. It's a solid show, but can't help but think it could've easily been better. A proper SMG-Mario game and MEtroid would've made this Direct incredible. Weird decisions :(

I gave it a "good" rating. Only OH SNAP moment that registered for me was Mega Man, which was definitely cool.

The problem is that they had no real surprises. There was almost nothing to push someone on the fence over into the Nintendo camp. It was good for Nintendo fans but I don't seem much here winning new fans.

They needed something huge, in my opinion, but failed to deliver. Solid but not spectacular.

Yes and No. There wasn't anything huge, but we got some GREAT gameplay of all the games shown today. So it wasn't just some filler CGI. Mario Kart 8 looks great as does X.

I thought the same thing, what in the world is Nintendo thinking.  Who is making the decisions there.  They let all the sucess of the Wii blind their eyes.

hmm... I am kinda disappointed... I really expect it more...

Good:
Mario looks kinda ok... 3ds land all the way.
Mario kart looks awesome.
Bayonetta looks awesome.
DK looks great.
101 looks amazing.
wind waker looks great.
Smash looks good.
X was the star of the show!

Cons:

No yoshi, no SMTxFE...
Retro on DK again?
No megaton in terms of a totally unannouced game...
Poor third party (I mean I already knew this but hey, it is the N64 all the way back)
horrible stream, seriously... Nintendo get your damn thing together!

Understandable decisions. The WiiU is in trouble, so they are bringing out the best-selling franchises first.

Yeah but Mario 3D and Mario 2D are awefully similar imo. SM3D was a great ame on the 3DS but that's the thing, it feels like a 3DS game. I don;t even get the name!!

I think many of you need to re-watch that Conference. Since lag is what messed it up for most of you, I doubt it's actually as bad as you might've though. Solid, good Conference, with great gameplay, just no surprises.
