While I don't agree with some points you made (for example, the PS3 nearly burning down your house is purely anecdotical) no one can deny that you write very well. Very fun to read. All points considered a great opinion piece from you^^

Agreed with 3 and especially 4

#4 strikes a chord with me. There is no equality.....the fanbases are not equal in their devotion and attitude. I will firmly, 100% believe forever that PS fans are uniquely the worst of the bunch. It is a unique culture; a sense of inherent entitlement and superiority...while not taking accountability when they are called out.

Keep in mind this applies to many fan groups outside gaming; olympics, FIFA World cup.....many sports teams fanbases are hardly identical in culture. Some are louder, some are more rude.

But personally, I dislike Sony because they almost monopolized the industry, with PS2 pretty much crushing all healthy competition. I never want to see that again.

I have always thought Nintendo fanboys are the worst. It probably depends on your bias. Though it is dumb to be a fanboy in general.

I agree with everything but number 5. I think Microsoft is the one that destroys this industry or already has. Them entering the market lead Sony and Nintendo to where they are today. Nintendo not participating in the arms race because they simply cant afford it and Sony trying to go head to head and nearly going out of business because of it.


And despite the fact that agree with the points you made, I don't hate Sony and it's not an imminent deal breaker for me, I just have to work around this stuff.
