Forums - Gaming - Lost gamer needs help

This is a serious post, I have been thinking about this since the xbox reveal.

I have been an xbox only gamer since 2003 but the xbox one is the worst console I have ever seen so I will not be buying it. I have no interest in the wii u and personally I think it won't be around 3 years from now. I really dislike sony as a company so I will not purchase any of their products. I was thinking of trying to get back into pc gaming but as I was looking around I remembered why I could never get into it, pc games are of no interest to me, I don't have the patience for strategy games, I don't like mmorpgs, I dislike mouse and keyboard controls, and you can't multitask while pc gaming. I have no where to go, I need something to play; I really don't think I could go a generation without playing games.

Fake Edit: Ouya and gamestick are out because I don't want slightly higher rez phone games with controller support; also I don't think they will last a year on the market.

You're not looking hard enough.

Once you get a good PC all major multiplats will go to PC and especially this generation, PC will get more and more games. Steam sales are amazing I hear.

iOS/Android have some decent games too.

And hey why not just go out and try something new? Give the other consoles a chance, maybe you'll find that you like em. It's like ethnic food.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

Many next gen games will also be on PC, if you don't like the keyboard mouse set up, most current games support Xbox 360 (or PS3) controllers.

you really should be looking in to PS4. It's the gamers console. Put your problems with Sony aside.
Or just build a gaming PC and use steam. Which is going to cost a lot more and not be quite the same.

We are both in the same boat.....

You dislike Sony, Nintendo and turned off by MS. Go PC. PC is on the rise again. A lot of the third party stuff will be on PC too.

I can't game exclusively on PC though. Got to mix it up with console exclusives.

PC has games of all genres and Steam has 99% of all relevant third party titles (aside from EA, which you can then find on Origin).

Plug a Xbox 360 controller into your PC and blast away.

"You can't multitask while PC gaming." Not sure what you mean here. PC gaming offers the best for multitasking.

you mean you can
Also just buy a 360 controller and get your gaming on pc, it get's 95% of what is on console and way more exclusives

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Well OP, you can either put down $500-$1000 for a good gaming PC, or you can get a more affordable console and get access to its exclusives. Your choice.

Guys this is not my first time trying to get into pc gaming, I tried multiple times. Most games do not actually have controller support, even some multiplat games like Dragon Age 2 (last pc game I played), pc ports often come out months or even years late and are barely upgraded, Patches on PC games are terribly annoying, then there is the fact that my configuration might not be ideal for a game I really want to play forcing me to upgrade or just not play, and also drivers breaking games. I don't have a lot of time to game; I work 46 hours a week and go to school full time so I need something simple.

Edit: about multitasking, I don't know which games you guys are playing but you can't watch a video walkthrough on while simultaniously playing portal, or any full screen game. Even with 2 monitors, the mouse won't move past the screen with the game on it(personal experience).
