Forums - Nintendo - Should Nintendo sell additional Brawl characters/levels via WiiWare?

Even though all the unlockable characters are now known, people are still wanting more (most commonly MegaMan and Krystal).  Should Nintendo address this with additional content via WiiWare, like MS does?

Perhaps it's already planned, probably not.  But should they do this, would you welcome it or feel cheated that they weren't in the game originally?

What would you think would be a fair price point?  How long and how much could they / should they add?

Personally for me, I would welcome it, as long as it's well done and blends in well, which knowing Nintendo wouldn't be a problem.  I'd love to get more levels or characters in sets of 3 for $5-$10 per set.  One set of levels every 6 months and one set of characters every 6 months interspaced would be great IMO for a total of 9-12 additional levels, and 9 more characters (and more 3rd party please!).

Before Naznatips lynches me, what do you guys think of this possibility/idea?

Send in the clones... Don't Bother. They're here.

I do not want to see Nintendo go down the road of microtransactions.

Game apparently already takes up enough space!

Plus i think they plan on giving extra stages away for free... Or atleast i thought they did?

Plus it has a stage editor.

New characters would be good. But like fkusumot said... they've already got clones... so i'd be surprised if they went through the trouble of making another new character without cloned moves.

I would buy them in a heartbeat, probably even if they were clones.

Not sure if they would do it though, for online reasons alone. They want the game to be accessable to everyone, but the community would be divided between those who have the DL content and those that just don't want to buy it. If you didn't buy it you couldn't play any game that are using one of those characters or stages.

If they gave them for free, and they automatically DLed when you popped in the game though, that would be a different story.

actually there is an option allowing to download new stages for free, but there won't be any new downloadable fighter(it would take too much space). if you will play with someone online and he will want to play on stage you don't have or didn't unlocked it will be unlocked fo the game(same with characters) or download stage you don't have.

I always hated this with other online games. As far as I'm concerned I paid for the game already, I should get everything that goes with it.

As for brawl...

Even though I'm against it I would probably shell out the cash if it was a character I really wanted, but I guarantee you I would moan and complain about it the entire time. I would just as well pay $3-4 per character, since if it's in a bundle I'd probably feel like I'm wasting money on characters I don't want.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't play a DLed character online against someone who doesn't have it.  It might lead to some additional load time, but really it shouldn't be noticable.

Free surprise characters transmitted via wi-fi would be an awesome treat for the fans.  Goto the Animal Crosser stage on a certain date and surprise! Animal Crosser unlocked.

That character would have to be on your wii for it to work. If you go online and play starcraft for instance, you walk into a room and they are playing a map you don't have, you can't start the game until you download that map onto your computer. Your wii has to know what's going on, it can't just have some character doing stuff, and interacting with your character if your wii doesn't even know what that pile of code is.
