Now that we know about the Xbox One and PS4, and with Wii U already out, what consoles do you think you'll get and why?

For me, I'll probably get a Wii U in 2014. Every 1st gen Sony and MS product I've owned has broken prematurely, so I want to hold off on a PS4 until a redesign. Plus I got my Wii in 2010, fairly late, and I felt because of this I never got to fully appreciate Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart.

I'll then get a PS4 in 2015 or 2016, it depends on how long it takes me to beat my PS3/360/Wii collection, what's out for PS4, and if there is a redesign. However Wii U/PS4 will be my primary next gen consoles. I loved my PS1-PS3 and PSP, and while I'm not too crazy about most of Sony's 1st party games, I think as a console, Sony is the only one who really knows how to do it right. Plus there will be a few franchises which I love (Uncharted, GT, InFamous), and there will be lots of 3rd party games. Also, I love the layout of Trophy's, I have a lot of catch up work to do.

At the end of the generation, I will still likely get an X-Box One. Mainly because I have every Sony/Nintendo/Sega/MS console so far (well I play XB1 games on my 360), and it would feel out of place. However if the used game fee is really really expensive, then I'll have a very short list of games on it.

PS4 will be purchased probably sometime within a year following the release. Wii U depending on when X and Zelda come out. Xbox has a lot to prove for me to buy in on the bullshit they plan on doing. So the only one I will not buy at this moment is Xbox One.

PS4, maaaaybe a Wii U if it's first party seems good enough, but I won't get it for Mario or Zelda. If not a Wii U than a PS4 and a bitchin PC.

PS4 at day one, I just hope I CAN get one. So, 2013.

I will probably get a Wii U eventually. Hopefully after Nintendo sorts their account system. Hopefully late 2014?

Xbox One, I'm not sure yet. The reveal just wasn't convincing and I'm not happy with all the pay walls (pay to play used games, pay to play online not lifted). I was very disappointed with the Xbox 360 (got it early 2011 then immediately MS went full force shift to Kinect - just my luck). Got to wait and see what MS announces at E3 so they still have a chance to win me over.

Both. Still reserved on which one i will buy first though. Waiting for games to be shown at E3. Impressed by both hardware wise and features though.

Unless PS4 engages in the same madness Microsoft is discussing I will support them and Nintendo once the stable of titles comes around.

Honestly, if this news all comes to past I may invest even more in Sony and Nintendo in a stand against this practice. I feel like this generation could define the future of the industry for good or ill.

Games can and should tell stories and share ideas through their mechanics. This is the intrinsic element of the medium and this is how experiences should be crafted in video games. No company does this as well as Nintendo and their echoes from the past.

Well I still want a Xbox One just for Halo and Gears of War assuming that stays exclusive.

I'm on the ropes with PS4. Need them to confirm they aren't pulling this DRM crap.
