Oh and btw, Bioshock was published by 2K games, not MS.

here is Nintendo's first and second party developers
First-party: Brownie Brown • EAD • Intelligent Systems • Monolith Soft • NST • Retro Studios • SPD
Second Party: AlphaDream • Ambrella • Game Freak • Genius Sonority • HAL Laboratory • Noise
Anything not developed by these companies are third party ie Mario and Sonic at Olympics was a Sega title ;)
Wii number: 2758-1649-6225-4782

Thanks for the list! I've never seen a complete one for Nintendo, or the other console makers either.
However, while Game Freak, HAL, etc., may work exclusively with Nintendo, and in many of those cases Nintendo owns all the publishing rights to their IP, there are still other "second party" games. Square, Tose, Hudson, etc., act as "second parties" in more limited arrangements.
"[Our former customers] are unable to find software which they WANT to play."
"The way to solve this problem lies in how to communicate what kind of games [they CAN play]."
Satoru Iwata, Nintendo President. Only slightly paraphrased.
Mario Party 8 sure should be considered a 3rd party game because Nintendo doesn´t own Hudson Soft.
Some of you guys are getting 2nd party mixed up. 2nd party games are games that developed by a company independent from the console manufacturer, yet are published by the console manufacturer, and are thus exclusive.
For example, LoZ: Twilight Princess, SMG, etc. are 1st party, as they are developed and published by Nintendo. In comparison, the Kirby and Super Smash Bros. franchises are both second party, as they are developed by HAL Laboratory, an independent company from Nintendo, and are merely published by Nintendo.
Similarly, the Jak & Daxter and Uncharted franchises are 1st party games, as Naughty Dog is owned by Sony, thus the games are developed and published by Sony. The Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises, however, are 2nd party, as Insomniac is not owned by Sony, yet the games are still published by Sony.
