MAJESCO ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES COOKING MAMA FRANCHISE SALES REACH 1.6 MILLION UNITS DOMESTICALLY
EDISON, N.J., January 30, 2008 – Mama just keeps on cookin’! Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of video games for the mass market, today announced that the award-winning Cooking Mama franchise has reached sales of 1.6 million units in the United States. Franchise titles include: the original Cooking Mama game for Nintendo DS™ that launched in September 2006 and has sold more than 1 million units; Cooking Mama: Cook Off for the Wii™ console that launched in April 2007; and Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends that released pre-holiday in November 2007.

So we have, for the USA only :
- 1 million + for : Cooking Mama for Nintendo DS
- 0.5/0.6 million for : Cooking Mama for Wii + Cooking Mama 2 for DS
Of course those are most probably shipped numbers.
For comparison, VGChartz has ( sell through, as of January 26, 2008, and Canada included ) :
- Cooking Mama DS : 0.71 million
- Cooking Mama : Cook Off (Wii) : 0.29 million
- Cooking Mama : Dinner with Friends (DS) : 0.15 million
For a total of : 1.15 million, canada still included.
If we consider Canada count for 10% of the total, then we have a total of 1.04 million unit sold in the USA only. Compared with 1.6 million shipped, I may assume this game is slightly undertracked.
