It's been said before that this is the game the Wii U was designed to play, so yeah, I'd say it's pretty important. Haha.

no one game will save the system, it needs a plethora of compelling titles like pretty much every system ever. Also N64 and GC were in different situations, N64 had those 10 or so huge, must have titles but outside of that they had no 3rd party support.

GC had decent 3rd party multiplats like PoP/Splinter Cell/Tony Hawk/EA Sports/NFS and exclusives like Symphonia/Resident Evil/Sonic Adventure/Twin Snakes but its 1st pary titles while good were kinda lacking, Sunshine seemed like a spinoff, Zelda was too cartoony for alot of people, Star Fox was fighting dinosaurs, Donkey Kong was a music game, Kirby only had a racing game, Smash/Mario Kart/Metroid/F-Zero delivered tho.

I honestly believe those consoles would have sold 40-60 million(like NES/SNES) if they had a healthy blend of must have 1st party titles and good 3rd pary support. Wii is the exception due to the casuals, but if not for them 40-60m is what i imagine it would have sold and is what Wii U has the potential to sell.

Well i agree that a console need support and not only some must have titles. But will people buy a wii u if they can get the same games ( or nearly the same games) on Wii U and the better versions for PS4 and X Box one? Thats the question?

yes, if has a healthy blend of must haves and supporting 3rd pary games. I dont see its 3rd party games selling as well as PS4/Xbox but i think they have potential to sell decently on Wii U

A lot rides on Mario U being successful. But it`s also true that it`s not alone: Mario Kart and Wind Waker will have a big role aswell.

Not sure if Mario U will be graphically awesome, but i believe Nintendo is more than willing to use the power of the console to do that. Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy were visually impressive for their time.

I just hope they have learnt a lesson with the NSMB series and don`t play it safe.

Obviously a good 3D Mario (and Smash Bros, and Zelda and Kart) will help boost sales. But I'm not sure what you're hoping for here. Gamecube and N64 had all those as well. So it's reasonable to expect they'll help WiiU climb to 10m-30m lifetime sales.

i don't really care for any of the 3d marios, but ironically i think that mario sunshine is just slightly better than the rest. Galaxy included. I just don't like the way mario attacks his enemies. If he could pick up sometype of weapon, or even a freaking fire flower that doesn't go away until you get hit i think i'd be ok.

galaxy had crazy graphics for the wii and what the hardware could produce, in my mind nintendo could do the same with the wii u. Cant wait for E3 to come and see the trailer for this game, will give me and others a further understanding of some kind of prediction for it to work off of.
