Forums - Gaming - Bad, horrible games you aren't ashamed of owning/playing/loving.

I think it's hard to say a game is bad and you think it should be bad, if you like it. Maybe there's things that it has that are characteristics of a traditionally bad game. But, there has to be a reason why you like it.

For instance, Alpha protocol, and deadly premonition have things that are really crappy compared to other games. But, they also have really unique mechanics other games don't have. Therefore, I don't think the result is a bad game.

Armoed Core: For Answer - I honestly think that the main reason people hate this game is because they didn't have fast enough reaction times (all those years of easy games).

Have you played the older games?  they're actually ALL about "reaction time"  and we're hard as balls (Harder than Dark Souls at some times as there were no checkpoints and ammo is limited)

IV / For Answer answer was the easiest Armored core game, and more relied on action than reaction.

I played every one except the first one and Armored Core 5 (because fuck that game). Silent Line was the easiest for me.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

nagano winter olympics '98 for n64. it was so bad and i still played it 50+ hours

Xena: Warrior Princess- The Talisman of Fate
Terrible controls, shitty graphics even for a n64 game, limited roster and overall bad game. Still couldn't wait to play it as a massive Xena fan. I ended up liking it anyway, as I could play as Calisto and Lao Ma. The game deserves a 3, but I still play it from time to time.

shenmue series

the mechanics of walking and interacting are horrible, but i love them. even the fighting is bad in my opinion, but theres somithing i LOVE about it. i cant understand why sega put so much money into such this concept, but im glad they did. its like a robotic puppeteer world built to resemble ours.

I...don't know what to say. If you think the game is bad, then you're totally following the rules of the OC. But Shenmue? Really? A bad game?

i think its a high quality game and the world is first class, but playability is unnatural and unintuitive. the voice acting is atrocious and yet i love the voice acting (except for tom).

I seriously can't believe this, but it seems that you're right. According to Gamespot "the visuals are moderately appealing". http://uk.gamespot.com/xena-warrior-princess-the-talisman-of-fate/reviews/xena-warrior-princess-the-talisman-of-fate-review-2543724/

For me these are some of the worst graphics of any gaming generation. NES Super Mario 3, on the other hand, still looks great.
