Actually, now that you put it that way it does seem a bit drastic. Perhaps those saying $450-500 SKUs are correct...

Brazil will receibe the PS4 at the same date than US... so I doubt India will have a late release... only if Europe gets a late release too.

am i the only one here from India... If as ur saying the price was converted from INR to euros then believe me it will be much cheaper in Euros around 320 euros coz Sony always has sold PS in india about 20% higher than european prices (PS3 60 gig launched at 565 euros)... and it will be much more cheaper in US.
above statement is only valid if the conversion were done from INR to euros, and yes PS india site always quote price in INR. And this will be the first time q PS will launch simultaneously with west...
p.s. PS3 slim launched at the same time as west for 315 euros.. what was the slim launch price in europem i know in US it was $299. its $300 currently for 12 gb ps3. here in india!
Let's hope it is true but as far as the "seems legit" part... I'd sooner trust Lindsay Lohan to stay sober than the legitimacy of this rumour.

Wasnt the Cell and the Bluray drive (now old and cheap as dirt tech) over $300 by themselves?
Nothing crazy at all about a 33% drop with this taken into consideration.
jakes on them because the EURO is about to collapse. i would stop selling in mainland Europe
MS is going to feel it if this is true. A Sony console launching $200 cheaper than the last? Dear lord. Sony is probably taking a $100 hit per console, but at least it will profit way faster than the last console.
399 is a fair price if the graphics are as good as i expect
than i'm gonna buy 4 games at release.
