usually Kinect and PS move games are ignored by the "core gamers". Wii is said to be a console that doesnt attract the core as well because of its motion controlls. but the question is, will all that ever change? will there be a time where the regular and frequent gamers like our selfs be genuinely interested in motion control gaming?

also lets not act like moton controls do appeal to the core, MS and sony us the kinect and move to appeal to a wider audince, basically the "casuals". so lets not make the thread about whether or not the core audince already like motion controls.

yes, they do

As usual, it all depends on the games. In this case, which types of games specifically are using the motion controls. I'm guessing most Kinect/PS Move games are like Kinect Animals or w/e it's called. Core gamers aren't that interested in those types of games, regardless of there being motion controls or not. It wont be until games like Halo, Call of Duty, GTA, and so ons start using motion controls that Core gamers will appreciate them, as those are the types of games the Core be interested in, I'm betting regardless of the control scheme. Hope this made sense!

Possibly. I ended up getting a Playstation Move bundle because I got $50 off. It worked really well with Killzone 3 but I could not get it to work well with Resistance 3. I heard a lot of KZ3 players say that it was better in multi-player once they got used to it. Unfortunately, that was all the use it got from me.

The thing is, even when it worked well, it got tiring to play with gestures for very long. The regular controller, on the other hand, is economical and comfortable over long periods.

I would try it again for shooters but that's about the only interest I have in using it. Kinect, however, doesn't interest me at all. Perhaps Kinect 2.0 will be improved enough that I want to play with it but we'll have to wait and see on that.

As soon as it gets good enough to be a solid, accurate input.

i don't see it becoming the norm in the future. Sometimes i hate motion controls and at times i love it. It really depends how well it implemented.

What's a "core gamer"? Forum-users? If so, then no. If you're just talking about people who play games, then yes, its already happened.

EVERY TIME I play a fps on the 360 I wish I could use the WII pointer controls.

Many core games with motion controls have been successful.
As a core gamer myself, I love motion controls,

I think core gamers have been using the traditional dusl analog setup for so long and are content with that. The only way I see them truly getting on board is by making it a requirement, like the Wii did. People can say they hate motion controls all they want but if games like Halo/COD/Gran Turismo make it required, gamers will migrate to it.
