Of course she is. Its just a part of the story they didnt tell in the first version, but it fits in the overall story.

Well Maria is only in P4G right?  She wasnt in the original?  She also isn't in the Persona 4 Animation.  She may just be a character added to Golden for extra gameplay.

Yeah she was only in Golden. But adding her in made the True Ending make sense.

I don't understand how you can think she isn't canon. It's like saying The Answer isn't part of the story either.
