Forums - Nintendo - EA confirms that FIFA 14 will not release on Wii U.

This sucks. I, like everyone else, mean I bought my Wii U to play EA games.

When I first heard of that "unprecedented partnership" between EA and Nintendo, I just knew that meant all EA games were now Wii U exclusives.

Turns out this is very much a "precedented partnership" and I bought my Wii U for nothing. I was really hoping that the Wii U was going to be just like the Wii and by my go to gaming system for all things EA but that dream is now gone.

I'm really going to miss all those things I was never going to get anyway.

*sniff*

I havent bought a FIFA game in 18 years.

Scrap that, i didnt ever buy one. I played that one at a friends.

Still. it's probably the most popular franchise in Europe behind CoD.

Poor Nintendo, oh well I guess Nintendo is going to have to rely on themselves to make games for their console. (As they do pretty much every generation)

expected. Hopefully woe more impartial publishers like namco, sega, se, activision, wb, ubisoft

Are we seriously going to do this with every EA game?

EA HAS BLACKLISTED NINTENDO.

No games for 3DS and Wii U unless contractual agreements force them to and then it will be another gimped port from last year's version just so if sells far less and they can continued their argument to investors and fanboys on the net.

"FIFA sucks guys, so it doesn't matter"

"EA Sports said it took the decision after poor sales of the Wii U version of FIFA 13"

This should really spell it out for everyone.

You raise a very interesting point.

Any thread about Nintendo and EA will include several Nintendo fans who will tell us that they don't like EA games and that they'd never buy an EA game on a Nintendo console.

Shouldn't these people be the ones who are the most understanding of EA's position?  Shouldn't they be nodding in agreement with EA's actions, as they themselves are examples of why EA is passing on Wii U support?  However, some of these people seem to be the most angry at EA.  Why, when they're seemingly confirming that EA made the right decision?

Interesting stuff.

You mean FIFA 12.5.

They didn't release FIFA 13 on Wii U.

I think they left the door open to Konami to come and dominate the soccer market on the console, FIFA is big in Europe, PES is big in South America but FIFA was gaining some ground, now PES could be the only option.
