There is absolutely no information available to give you a reasonable answer. You'll either get overly hyped people saying yes based purely on faith or overly negative people challenging that Uncharted 2 had any meaningful change on the whole industry.

My personal answer is no, because I doubt a game at the very end of the generation could be that important in the design of future games.

but we do have enough information about the game. its really about whether ND can deliver or not, and if they do, would it have the effect they want?

and if anybody does say UC2 didnt change the indusrty then they dont know what they are talking about

Okay since you believe uc2 changed the industry, name some games that it influenced?

I think it influenced

Saints Row, Infamous, splinter Cell, Star Wars 1313, Remember Me. there were some others but i cant think of them right now

I even remember while watching a halo 4 walkthrough on youtube and there was a specific part where i was like " wtf is Master Chief supposed to be Nathan Drake all of a sudden?" but thats minor

On October 13, 2009 Sony and Naughty Dog released Uncharted 2, and to say Uncharted 2 had a big splash on the indusrty would be an understatement. Uncharted 2 literally changed the indusrty, it was praised for its wonderful looks, amazing characters, stunning set piece's and so much more. it was every gamers dream.

Uncharted 2 went to win over 200 game of the year awards in 2009 and is still hailed by many as "The game of the generation". UC2 effected not only how games are played, but how they are made and how they are presented as well. its effect spread out in even more established franchises like Resident Evil and Tomb Raider. Whether you like UC2 or not, there is no denying that it did change the indusrty in a major way, but this thread isnt about that. its about The Last of Iwant to changeUs.

"I want to change the fucking indusrty, man" those were the words of Neil Drecuhmann, the Creative Director of The Last of Us. To put it simply Naughty Dog wants to change the way that story telling is done in video games. they want to raise the bar for it, and they are hell bent on showing the world how a story should be told.

The Question is, can Naughty Dog change the indusrty twice in the same generation? can the last of us change video games?

What exactly did it change? You never said.

I guess he should've said influence instead of change because the word change can be taken out of context

Hard to say without actually playing the game. From the gameplay demos it looks like a cross of Uncharted, Tomb Raider, and RE to me. So nothing really groundbreaking. It takes a monumental game to "change the industry". I don't think this will or that U2 did for that matter. U2 maybe changed some TPS shooters. Last of Us can maybe change survival horrors.

no need to qoute the OP

if you are really asked and not just trying to play down the thread or UC2 i did once write a rather long post explaining the achievments or influences of UC2 to jaywood, im sure i can dig it up if you want. but that isnt really want the thread is about

How so by making movies?

I hope not. I prefer games over interactive movies no longer then 7/8 hours.

I don't think you even try to be somewhat fair anymore. You came to the site as a guy with chill avatar and bit of humour. Now you are just negative towards everything non-nintendo.

Atleast know what you are trolling from now on. The Last of Us lets players set the pace of their survival experience. http://www.polygon.com/2013/5/17/4339320/the-last-of-us-lets-players-set-the-pace-of-their-survival-experience

OT: I think we are getting way hyped on this and i say that after my hype meter blew up from the intensity. This game is Naughty Dog's take on survival horror and refinement of many genres. It might set the bar high for others but it is not going to change the industry.

lol dude dont bother with this guy
